CLOSING CEREMONY IDEAS

The following is a list of components that you could include in your Closing Ceremony; some are an integral part of the large ceremonies at Nationals and some have been used by other Local Hosts with good success. You may think of other special features that would work well for your Bee. Please share your ideas with us at SKF- wed love to spread creative ways of honoring God and highlighting family discipleship in His Word! Present participation certificates to each contestant either as a group, or individually by name. Have each division come onstage via a processional while someone plays a march on the piano and the audience recognizes all of the children. Present participation medals to each contestant as they come onstage. Present award certificates and any prizes. Trophies are available at the Bible Bee E-Store. Give gift bags to each contestant. Encourage all of your families to ask local restaurants, organizations and businesses for donations of small items or gift certificates that could be included. Give prizes for the local winners that are obtained from local donors or purchased from the Bible Bee E-Store; the World Magazine fundraiser is another way to raise funds for purchasing prizes. Have the parents stand in the audience so that the children can give them a round of applause of gratitude. Recognize the many volunteers who contributed time to the Local Bee over the summer. Pray together and spend time in musical worship. Request that a few children and parents share a testimony of how investing in Gods Word has impacted their lives. These could be prepared in advance or spontaneous. Invite the children to recite their favorite passages that they memorized over the summer. Allow children to sing their favorite Musical Scriptures. Have children prepare to present a favorite memory verse in sign language. Hold a Day 10 Diagram contest and announce the winners. In advance, have contestants or families prepare skits that are related to something that they learned from the book of the Bible that they studied over the summer, and have them present the skits onstage. End the time with an ice cream social, special Bible Bee cake, or potluck dessert and finger foods time. (Make sure that you have resources to refrigerate any cold foods during the day.) We are excited to see what your group will add to this list! Just remember to keep the focus on praising God, upholding His Word, recognizing the contestants and encouraging families to draw closer to the Lord and to one another. May His Spirit fill your special event so that gratitude and praise overflow with abundance through an exceptional Closing Ceremony.
