Police bid to boost PR

The one-time minister admitted fiddling 30,428 in Parliamentary expenses. Morley, an MP in Scunthorpe from 1987 to 2010, could now become the fourth Parliamentarian to be jailed since the expenses scandal broke. The charges against the MP carry a maximum sentence of seven years in prison. A grim-faced Morley said nothing after the hearing as he made his way past a media scrum. But his political career is now in tatters. Before the hearing, onlookers had watched in hushed silence as a serious-looking Morley took his seat. He avoided making eye contact with the packed press and public galleries. f Continued on page 2
