Dear friends and supporters of the Celebrity Walk n Roll, On behalf of the FSH Society staff and Board of Directors, I want to express my deepest appreciation to you for your hard work and generosity in making this years Celebrity Walk n Roll such a resounding success. This years event raised over $50,000 in donations and sponsorships for FSH muscular dystrophy research while bringing so many people together for a day of wonderful fun and camaraderie. The funds raised by this event have an impact every day on FSHD patients and families all over the world. I wanted to share some of the ways in which you are making a difference: We are funding cutting-edge research by some of the best scientists working on FSHD. Grants from the FSH Society have led to the discovery of the genetic mechanism causing FSHD, and are paving the way to potential treatments. We are able to educate and connect patients so they wont have to struggle with this disease alone. Through our website, newsletter, press releases and social media, patients learn about opportunities to volunteer for research studies and clinical trials. We raise awareness of FSHD with the U.S. Congress and with the general public, leading to better understanding of people living with FSHD and to increased Federal funding for research towards treatments and a cure.
