EdAd 5997 Professional Competency Assessment for Principals Credits: 1 Course Description: This course is the capstone for

the Educational Administrative program for Principals. Learners will complete an electronic portfolio which includes valid evidence of competency for each Core Leadership and Principals Competencies required for certificate approval. This course is designed to enable students to demonstrate competency in the following Core Leadership Competencies:
F6: Making presentations that are clear and easy to understand; F7: Responding, reviewing and summarizing information for groups F8: Communicating appropriately speaking, listening, and writing for different audiences such as students, teachers, parents, community, and other stakeholders

F9: Understanding and utilizing appropriate communication technology Assessments: Completed portfolio, Presentation ready for Exit Panel Review. Recommended Protocol for Portfolio: Table of Contents Introduction Who are you and for what license are you applying? How is the portfolio organized? Resume Log of hours in internship placements Field Experience Include final evaluation, letters of recommendation, and Internship Project Professional Development Plan What do you expect to be doing in the next five years? Awards/Achievements Current Certification Copies of licenses Competencies: Include artifacts to illustrate all standards Portfolio philosophy statements Include with each artifact delineating the competencies illustrated Describe each artifact Describe how the artifact illustrates the standard Philosophy of Leadership Instructional Plan: This course will utilize the campus Career Services Lab and the Universitys E-portfolio system to prepare for the required panel examination of evidence of competency against all Core and Principals standards before application for licensure. Learners will work with the program coordinator and designated instructor to complete portfolio and to prepare for final presentation of portfolio and internship project for the Exit Panel.
