• Oversee annual real property valuation, assessment and taxation of greater than $15 billion
in commercial, residential and industrial property in Newton
• Oversee City Comptroller, Treasurer, Human Resources, Information Technology,
Purchasing Functions including procurement and purchasing of vendor services
• Establish investment guidelines for $240 million City of Newton independent Pension
Trust Fund and monitor quarterly performance to meet annual goals
• Lone aldermanic liaison between Mayor, Executive Officer, Chief Administrative Officer
and Budget Director for consult on capital improvements, legal settlement approvals,
collective bargaining, budget/income forecasting, etc.
