KM Asia 2009 will reflect specific and topical issues that KM professionals are currently facing. Through targeted
research and input from KM experts, practitioners and industry professionals, Ark Group has worked to ensure that

Interactive Highlights
This year, Ark Group has incorporated several interactive elements into KM Asia 2009. Innovative inclusions such as
cabaret style seating, the Reverse brainstorming session and the MAKE panel discussion will facilitate conversations

Reverse brainstorming session

Coming up with new ideas or insights in a conventional brainstorming session is often hard
work and not very engaging. An alternative approach is the “reverse brainstorm”.

In this session, the concept is simple: rather than brainstorming about something they
would like – delegates will instead brainstorm the opposite of what they would like. For
example, if a KM practitioner would like their KM project to be a success, they don’t ask
“How do we ensure our KM project is a success?” but instead “How do we ensure that our
KM project is a total miserable failure?”

Participants will be taken through a process of discussing and listing all the things that
should be done to ensure that something is NOT successful. They will then prioritise those
items and come up with antidotes. Finally, they will have a large group conversation about
their possible responses, insights and what they have learnt.

This alternative approach harnesses negative energy such as cynicism, sarcasm and hostility
to spark creativity!

MAKE panel discussion

This is your chance to gain an insight into the views of our award winning experts. Hear
a short overview from each of the panel speakers about their organisation’s recent work
that led them to achieving the prestigious MAKE accolade.

You’ll then be given the opportunity to pose your questions and gain a better
understanding about the key factors involved in each of their successful knowledge
management journeys.

1. Bookings can be submitted at any stage prior to the event, subject to availability. A limited allocation is
being held and booking early is therefore recommended.
