St. Ignatius College Preparatory is a Catholic, Jesuit school serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1855. Through a rigorous and integrated program of academic, spiritual, and co-curricular activities, St. Ignatius challenges its students to lead lives of faith, integrity, and compassion. SCHOOL COMMUNITY
St. Ignatius College Preparatory is a four year coeducational college preparatory school conducted by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), a religious order of the Roman Catholic Church, located in San Francisco. St. Ignatius draws students from the following Bay Area counties: San Francisco, Marin, Alameda, and San Mateo. Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA), St. Ignatius holds membership in the Jesuit Secondary Education Association, College Board, National and Western Association of College Admissions Counselors, American School Counselor Association, and the National Catholic Education Association.

Enrollment in honors and advanced placement courses is determined by successful completion of prerequisites and teacher recommendation. ADMISSIONS
The student body reflects rich, ethnic and social diversity. In 20132014, the student body includes 1468 students of the following ethnic groups: 58% White 16% Asian 8% Latino 4% African American 11.5% Multiracial 16% Other

*AP Biology & AP Chemistry Lab can only receive a pass/no pass grade. There are no honors level courses in Religious Studies; however, the University of California has approved the following courses: RS 300: Ethics, RS 447: World Wisdom Traditions, Studio Art (B/C): Sacred Symbols. The Religious Studies Program at St. Ignatius is an integral part of our schools identity, as it embodies our mission to develop the entire person: intellectually, spiritually, and ethically.

Admissions at St. Ignatius is selective. There are approximately 1,200 applications for 375 spaces in an incoming class. Admission is by entrance examination, recommendations, and elementary school grades.

Financial assistance is received by 25% of the students.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The academic program at St. Ignatius is designed to prepare students for college. A student must pass a minimum of six academic courses each semester, in addition to completing 100 volunteer hours prior to graduation. Upon completion of requirements, seniors will graduate on May 31, 2014.

Due to the nature of our college preparatory curriculum, some students are unable to complete the 2nd semester of the PE requirement until their senior year.
