Performed operator's PMCS on the scoop loader utilizing the PMCS table in TM 5-3805-262-10. Described the difference between before, during, after, weekly, and monthly operator's PMCS. Annotated all deficiencies on DA Form 5988-E, corrected all operator deficiencies, and gave the DA Form 5988-E to the maintenance supervisor.

Wear safety goggles and gloves when checking batteries, hydraulic tank and fueling scoop loader. Maintain three points of contact when mounting or dismounting. Ground all attachments before dismounting. Conduct a 360 degree walk-around before mounting and after dismounting. Wear hearing protection, hard hats, and seat belts when operating the equipment. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Always look to the rear when backing up. Raise bucket before backing up. Use caution when working on hills, banks, or slopes to avoid tipping. DO NOT place transmission in neutral to allow the scoop loader to coast.

STANDARDS:

NOTE: The first 30 minutes of this block of training is intended to be refresher to the prerequisite dL phase. NOTE: Review equipment mounting and dismounting procedures, equipment operation, and personal safety requirements. Explain that 25 minutes will be used at the beginning and end of each day for before and after operators maintenance. Conduct the practical exercise with instructor supervision. Instructor and assistants will evaluate each student, make on the spot corrections, and provide immediate feedback. A. Practical Exercise Instructions 1) Give detailed instructions on what is expected during each practical exercise IAW Appendix B. 2) Ensure students have required materials and references IAW Appendix B. 3) Clarify students' questions. 4) Conduct the practical exercise IAW Appendix B. 5) Check on students' progress and provide assistance as necessary throughout the exercise. 6) Ensure students complete the practical exercise within the allotted time.
7) Provide solutions to the practical exercise. B. Safety 1) Hard hats will be worn when on or around the equipment. 2) Use three points of contact when climbing in, on or out of the equipment. 3) Remain aware of your surroundings. 4) Wear your seat belt. 5) Sound "FIRE IN THE HOLE" prior to starting the equipment. 6) When acting as the ground guide, always maintain eye to eye contact with the operator. 7) If you have a ground guide, remember they are in control. "PAY ATTENTION" 8) At the first sign of lighting, dismount the equipment and find shelter. CAUTION: Read all warning labels before operating machine. NOTE: Safety depends on our ability to communicate. C. Travel position 1) Front bucket 10-14 inches above the ground. 2) Front bucket fully retracted. D.
