Structural Stability
Structural Stability
instability arises when the structure cannot keep itself altogether like a rigid body when external supports are removed.
Static instability arises when the number of equilibrium equations exceeds the number of unknowns.
Geometric instability arises due to following three reasons; a. When all the reactions are either parallel or concurrent. b. When three consecutive internal hinges are provided that are collinear without the provision of any intermediate external reaction.
