AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college readiness plan designed to increase school wide learning and performance. Students who may be the first in their family to attend college may be recommended for this class. AVID acts a catalyst for systemic reform and change. AVID students take advantage of library digital and print resources.

Spartan Success is a required Freshman semester long course that helps students understand and organize their high school career. Patterned from the Seaman High School model, students complete learning styles and interest inventories. They examine their strengths and talents and utilize the Kansas Career Pipeline. Learning about finances and practical life skills are part of this class. Spartan Success students often take advantage of library services. They access databases and websites while researching a variety of topics. This connection to life-long learning enhances student decision making and problem solving skills.

Community resources include free homework help and tutoring are now available at the computer labs at W.A. White Elementary and the Flint Hills Learning Center, which are open 6-8 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for students and parents. Spanish translators are available.
