GREAT SATISFACTION FOR CRG

AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN ZUERA

THE DUTCH DE VRIES WINS THE EUROPEAN TITLE IN KF3 ON ZANARDI. IN SUPER KF ROWLAND WAS AN EXCELLENT
PROTAGONIST WITH LH CHASSIS MAXTER ENGINE. FULL RESULT FOR THE FINNISH VAINIO ON MARANELLO-MAXTER.

Zuera (Spain), 12th July 2009.

On the Spanish circuit of Zuera
and in the super hot weekend
of the 11th-12th of July the KF3
European Championship Final
took place together with the
second Trial of the Super KF
European Championship. There
was no official participation of
CRG and the major constructors
in this last category as it already
happened in the trial of Muro
Leccese.
In KF3 CRG-Maxter has
participated with its two
qualified drivers from the
selection of Sosnova (CZ), the
Polish Jakub Dalewski and the
Rumanian Robert Visoiu, apart
from the young Finnish Matias
Koykka who got his
qualification during the
selection of North Europe in
Genk, Belgium. It was this
latter who reached then the
best result for CRG colours at
the end.
After having overcome the
qualification heats Koykka was
able to place 11th in Prefinal
recovering from a starting 31st
position, and got the same good

the best “top ten”. This young
Finnish driver reached therefore a good level of competitiveness at his first
participation with CRG official team.
Dalewski and Visoiu didn’t manage to go over the qualification heats and the
fastest between them was Visoiu who placed always from the 16th to the 18th
position racing the four heats, and always starting from the back lines due to
the bad qualifications before.

In KF3 the final success went to
the super fast Nyck De Vries
with full merit, being the leader
of the weekend and bringing
therefore to victory the chassis
Zanardi produced by CRG and
marketed by Chiesa Corse
which also gave support to the
new European Champion of the
category with Dino Chiesa.
In Super KF we shall note the
excellent competitive growth of
the new chassis LH Lewis
Hamilton, produced and
marketed by CRG.
A great race was also run by the
British Oliver Rowland who also
assisted on track by Dino Chiesa.
Since the official trials Rowland
came near the pole position
placing at just one thousand of
second from the French
Renaudie, then in the
qualification heats the British
driver was able to win his first
victory of the season.
In the first of the two Finals he
confirmed his competitiveness
gaining the third step of the
podium recording also the
fastest lap during the race. In

head since half race but in the
last lap he lost his leadership in favour of the Finnish Vainio (Maranello-Maxter).
With his third place in race-1 and the second in race-2 Rowland has anyway the chance to fight for the
Championship, being now at only 23 points from the top of the classification.
The third and last round of the Super KF which will take place in Essay, France, on the 2nd of August, will
also decide for the European Title of this category, together with the Final in KF2.

THE INTERVIEW
Giancarlo Tinini, President of CRG SpA: “The European Final of KF3 was very positive with the Dutch De
Vries who won the title with our chassis Zanardi. Under the support of Chiesa Corse he has been showing
his value all season long and in this category he confirmed to be the driver to beat. For CRG the technical
result was quite good, the timings on the lap were OK and only the lacking of experience of our drivers
stopped us from getting good results for the classification. Visoiu was OK, but Koykka made a great
impression on us, he was the real surprise of the weekend. In Final some tactical race errors didn’t let him
go over the 11th place. In Super KF Rowland was one of the protagonists of the weekend which also
confirmed the excellent work done on the LH chassis. We have been realizing a good development either
on the chassis as on the Maxter engine, so the result we were waiting for has arrived“.
