Ackerly Park in New Albany to host

2010 BIA Parade of Homes
New Albany Neighborhood Features Village Center Living

Columbus, Ohio – The Building Industry Association (BIA) of Central Ohio today announced
New Albany as the location of the 2010 BIA Parade of Homes scheduled for July 9 – 25.
This announcement occurs as the 2009 Parade comes to an extremely successful
conclusion at Tartan Ridge in Dublin.

This 58th Parade in 2010 will be located in Ackerly Park, an 18 acre site near the intersection
of Market Street and Main Street in the New Albany Village Center District. This location is
believed to be the first ever Parade situated within the center of a community and as such,
creates a unique opportunity for builders and buyers alike.

The BIA has previously hosted three successful Parades in New Albany, including the 1991
Parade, which premiered the very first neighborhoods of the New Albany Country Club
communities.

"The BIA is very excited to be returning to New Albany for the 2010 BIA Parade of Homes,”
commented Jim Hilz, Executive Director, BIA of Central Ohio. “Ackerly Park will provide
Parade attendees with a total lifestyle experience by being able to tour the homes and within
walking distance, access the diverse amenities of New Albany. We expect it will be an
outstanding site, not to mention a fantastic development once completed.”

New Albany Company (NACO) is the developer of Ackerly Park and the master planner of
nearly 10,000 acres within the Village of New Albany and surrounding areas which includes
residential, commercial and community uses. NACO President Bill Ebbing cites the
company’s unwavering commitment to the highest quality master planning and architecture
consistent with the vision of NACO Owner Leslie Wexner as reasons for the lasting appeal of
New Albany.

“Ackerly Park is another captivating chapter in the ongoing story of New Albany,” Ebbing
said. “Each neighborhood has a distinct approach that speaks to quality minded buyers who
are not just looking for a home, but for a lifestyle. Within walking distance to the library, The
McCoy Center for the Arts, our school campus, country club, parks, places of worship and
Market Square shops, Ackerly Park is perfect for individuals and families looking for
connectivity and a more urban feel.”

In addition to the signature Georgian architecture, leisure trails, parks, ponds and pleasant
streetscapes that are the essence of each New Albany neighborhood, the homes of Ackerly
Park will present a unique opportunity for environmentally friendly living. Parade homes will
showcase the latest technology and energy efficiency options available as well as durable
products and cost sensitive construction techniques.

The Village of New Albany is an enthusiastic participant in supporting the parade, viewing it
as an opportunity to introduce guests from the region to the beauty of the community but also
to the many amenities of the New Albany lifestyle.

“I’m very excited the 2010 BIA Parade of Homes will be coming to New Albany,” said Mayor
Nancy Ferguson. “A lot of planning has gone into creating our community, and with our
Market Square area so close to Ackerly Park, people will get a good idea of how charming,
connected and welcoming New Albany is.”

A component of New Albany that has burgeoned since the last Parade was held there in
1998 is the 2,000 acre business campus to the north of Route 161. Much of the growth in
this area has contributed to the residential success of the New Albany Country Club
communities, with associates from the businesses choosing New Albany as a place to both
live and work. Abercrombie & Fitch, American Electric Power, AETNA, Commercial Vehicle
Group, Discover Financial Services, Mount Carmel New Albany Surgical Hospital, Tween
Brands and Travel Solutions are just a few of the more than 300 businesses located in New
Albany. The growth in employment has also led to additional commercial development in
and around the Village of New Albany.

“Our area entrepreneurs enjoy innovative amenities of New Albany including access to the
high speed fiber net, dual feed electric, close proximity to the airport and multiple freeway
entrances,” said Eileen Leuby, President of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. “We
have become a community of choice because of the total package which merges attractive
architecture, cultural options and an overall commitment to continuous improvement. The
wide range of housing stock and top rated school district soared New Albany to one of
Central Ohio’s premiere communities.”
