Plug-in clamps

Schneider Electrics expertise

b The 250/630A double plug-in clamps allow devices to be connected to busbars without tools and with all guarantees of safety for the operator. b Pressure is only applied on insertion of the functional unit, thus avoiding vertical bar wear. b The clamps are self-compensated: pressure on the bar increases with short-circuit current strength, thus meaning there is no risk of ejecting the functional unit.

Polyfast

b The Polyfast supports the active portion of the moulded circuit breaker housing, b The partitions ensure electrical insulation between the circuit breaker's upstream connections and the plug-in clamps, b A striker system causes the circuit breaker to open when extracted and placement of the Polyfast with power on, b The Polyfast allows the power and auxiliary circuits wiring to be performed outside the switchboard.

Sliding fishplates

b The sliding fishplates, pre-assembled in the factory, facilitate cubicle coupling by connecting the horizontal busbars and cut fishplating time by half. b Maintenance is unnecessary as torque tightening is guaranteed for life.

Handling plinth

b Okken is the only switchboard on the market to offer as standard a plinth allowing handling with a fork-lift truck or pallet truck, thereby reducing risks for the cubicle and contractor. b The plinth is used to fasten the switchboard to the floor. b The anti-intrusion finishing grids facilitate switchboard ventilation.

IP54

The IP54 degree of protection as per standard IEC 60529 is the ideal solution for installing your distribution or motor control switchboard in the dusty and damp environments of workshops in certain industrial and tertiary sites.
Okken IP54 protects the switchboard internal equipment and guarantees your installation a long service life. You no longer have to worry about the risk of dust and humidity creating short-circuits.

Corrosive atmospheres

Okken adapts to environmental requirements to guarantee your installations performance and 100% availability of electrical power.
b Switchboard treated for anti-corrosion according to standard IEC 721-3-3. b Adapted treatment: tin-coated conductive parts for fixed connections, and nickelcoated conductive parts for draw-out connections. b Metal and plastic parts treated in the factory for these environments

Seismic zones

Because the Earth moves, Okken 2G & 5G is designed to guarantee continuity of supply at all times, even during earthquakes.
Okken 2G and 5G are designed to satisfy requirements during earthquakes: b outstanding mechanical resistance to tremors: seism cubicles are reinforced at frame and plinth level for increased rigidity of switchboard structure. b Okken 2G is intended for zones with seismic risks described in classifications AG2, AG3 and AG5 according to international standards IEC 68-3-3 and IEC 721-26. This version also allows use as per American standards IBC 2003 , at floor and roof level. v The limited deformation of the switchboard during tremors guarantees continuous operation of feeders and allows rapid resumption of operation should the main power supply be cut. b Okken 5G satisfies the requirements of classification EDF HN20E53. It is designed to withstand the stresses exerted in seismic zones in nuclear applications

Marine and off-shore

The Okken Marine switchboard has been awarded Det Norske Veritas (DNV) certification, no. E6770. b IP22, b Good vibration withstand from 2 to 100 Hz, b specific equipment (guard rail, lighting, door shutting, reserve covers, etc.).

... to the most demanding environments

Forced ventilation

The Okken switchboard installed in a hot environment (hotter than 45C) or with devices with considerable heat loss (variable speed devices, capacitors, etc.) can be optimised by adapting a forced ventilation system on the roof, in IP31 to 54.
Okken offers a number of solutions: 1 addition, in IP31 40-45C applications, of a stack without fan on the switchboard roof and above the vertical busbar, in order to facilitate natural convection.

fan

2 identical mounting, with a fan built into this stack, so as to accelerate air flow (fan of approximately 600 m3/h).

ventilation grid on door

3 IPs greater than IP31 and temperatures above 45C call for installation of additional air taps equipped with filters with fans on the roof or on the front or rear face of the cubicle according to the cable access type

cubicle with front connection

cubicle with rear connection

The increased power available in the switchgear and busbars is approximately 15 %.

DEP Shell (compliance March 2008)

The Okken switchboard is compliant with IEC 60439-1 and SHELL's complementary technical specifications, in accordance with document DEP33.67.01.31-Gen of June 2006. This "DEP Shell" switchboard (TTA) is recommended for the following applications: b petroleum refineries, b gas installation, b petrochemical applications, b petroleum and gas production sites, b land-based and offshore installations. This switchboard allows for standardisation of both incoming and outgoing feeders: b intelligent and standard motor control and protection, b electrical distribution.

PCC Incomers/feeders y 6300A

Maximum accomodation capacity up to 4000A

For a 650 mm wide cubicle, the maximum accomodation capacity is: b 3 Masterpact NW/Compact NS type devices from 800 to 1600A b 2 Masterpact NW devices from 2000 to 3200A b 1 single Masterpact 4000A. b 4 incomers or feeders maximum, produced with the range of Masterpact NT08 to16 circuit-breakers in rear connection. Maximum depth: 1400 mm (600 + 400 + 400).

Capacity for incomers up to 6300A

The capacity is 1 device per 1150 mm wide cubicle, with cable connection in the bottom part, and connection to the double power busbar in the front and rear faces.

Switchgear zone
A switchgear zone for measurement, protection and control of these incomers is available above or below the incoming unit, according to circuit-breaker position.

Optimisation
b In the case of 2 incomers with 1 coupling, the Masterpact NW08-40 circuit-breaker version can be replaced by the Masterpact NW08-40 switch version. b For a single Masterpact NW08-32 circuit-breaker at the top of a cubicle with a width of 650 mm, use the adapted busbar allowing the bottom part to be equipped with electrical distribution or motor command control low power feeders (115-70 cubicle). b Solutions with 650mm wide cubicles and single Masterpact NT or NW device reduce the amount of copper in the horizontal busbar/device connections and leave ample space for implementation of supply, control, PLC, interconnection systems, etc.

The solution
On disconnectable mounting plate (IS 223) : b a 6M support equipped with 250A clamps is directly secured to the busbar chassis b a DIN rail is used to clip on 4 C60 type 3P or 4P circuit-breakers b customer cables are connected onto the device.

On mounting plate: b IS 211: v a 6-module to 10-module mounting plate, used to mount and connect CompactNS circuit-breakers up to 630A, is directly secured to the vertical busbar supports, v the busbar and the circuit-breaker inlet are connected by bolted insulated flexible bars or cables, v for 2 devices, customer cables can be connected in cable compartments, to the left and right of the switchgear cubicle, v feeders are added with the switchboard de-energised, v specific mounting plates can receive 2 Compact NS 100 to 250A circuit-breakers. b IS 212 : v With a design and connection identical to IS 211, this version allows pre-equipping of the fixed part of the circuit-breaker and subsequent equipping of the live part of the Compact NS with power on.

20

Usage example

Distribution Feeders y 630A

On Polyfast : b IS 223 : v A base with 250A or 630A clamps from 5 to 9M is fastened to the supports of the vertical busbar v It accommodates a moulded insulating moving part, with partitioned power connections, allowing fastening of Compact NS100 to 630A 3P or 4P circuit-breakers v Customer cables are directly connected onto the device contacts. v A striker system prevents device plug-in or out in the ON position. b IS 233 : v With a design identical to Polyfast IS 223, this fully withdrawable model facilitates connection of customer cables on contacts secured in the cable compartment and front face, or by the rear.

The drawer (IS 333) : b Fully withdrawable and fitted with a front face attached to the circuit-breaker support. b This drawer allows the plug-in/test/plug-out positions. The test position is increasingly used in applications with buses: this position allows communication while the power part of the circuit-breaker is de-energised. b A rotary or electric handle is used to activate the circuit-breaker. b Customer connections are made on contacts secured in the cable compartment on the front face or by the rear.

The auxiliary contacts: b Disconnectable mounting plates and fixed mounting plates: withdrawable terminal blocks facilitating working without needing to touch the control cables. b Polyfast and drawer: sliding contact block allowing the test position (drawer) and guaranteeing communication on a bus.

Optimisation
b The glazed common front faces are used to visualise the operating status of circuit-breakers on Polyfast, disconnectable mounting plate or mounting plate without opening the door, in difficult environments (dust, humidity, corrosion, etc.). b With the Polyfast in drawer, there is no point pre-equipping the fixed parts of feeders as they can be installed later on when the equipment is energised.

The solutions

On disconnectable mounting plate (IS 223) : b a support with 2-3-4-6-8-12 modules, equipped with clamps with 64A sockets, is directly installed on the chassis of the vertical busbar b a pre-slotted plug-in mounting plate accommodates the automation components: v circuit-breaker, contactor, thermal relay, relays and protection b a withdrawable control terminal block facilitates connection of the feeder control and signalling cables b customer power cables are connected directly on the switchgear. In drawers: b Consisting of a fixed part in the framework and of a fully withdrawable moving part, supporting the protection, control and automation components. b With a height of 3-4-6-8-12-18-24-36 modules, they are used to produce motor control and protection feeders: v direct, 1 operating direction, v direct, 2 operating directions, v star-delta, v Dahlander (2 speeds), v 2 speeds with separate winding, v with variable speed drives from 0 to 500 kW, v progressive starter from 0 to 75 kW. b When switching from "plugged-in" to "test" position, the transmission of information must be maintained between the intelligent relays and the PLC. This is made possible by sliding auxiliary contact blocks b Customer power cables are connected on the fixed part, on contacts in the cables compartment and are fitted with individual covers (form 4b).

Optimisation

b A secure power supply system for the intelligent relays allows you to ensure optimal operation of automation systems from your switchboard, even with a circuit disrupted by short breaks in supply (>5ms).
