In what ways however can new technology help maintain our traditions. Whilst no one can deny the dangers of new technology to our social culture, there are also positive aspect of technological developmed in maintaining and preserving our customs and traditions. One of the main reason why technology is considered as a possible threat to our traditions is because of our desire to maintain an outdated status quo and our sense of vulnerability of being taken over by modern technology. Technology, on the contrary, is being increasing used to educate people about different cultures and importance of traditions. Internet, for example, is mostly like to help young students to learn about their cultural heritage, cultures and provide the necessary information that teaches about the significance of maintaining our traditions. There is no denying that modern technology is an important tool in preserving the culture and traditional values of a community or country. New advances in science have made it possible for us retrieve language, for example, which were once thought to have been lost. Likewise, technology space is helping us to spread traditional practices such as Yoga, meditation, acupuncture and the likes. Not only did it help spreading these practices across the globe, but these are also proving to be equally good to our general well being. Admittedly, there are concern with regard to use of technology in spreading western culture and endangering the local cultures. Yet, this will only happen if we do not teach our children about the importance of our traditional values or fail to introduce subjects in our school curricula that teach students to understand the benefits of preserving culture and traditions. In conclusion, only by using technology to our advantage can we maintain our traditions alive.
