Room Details

FUNHOUSE-- SENIORS *There are mirrors placed around the room. This effect could also be achieved with any type of reflective surface (we may want to opt for this instead due to potential hazard of glass). Some of the mirrors are harmless, but others are concealing hidden people who jump out at visitors. *The mirrors could also reflect disturbing images back onto the visitor (i.e. cover the mirror with a creepy/bloody picture to startle the person looking at it). *Old funhouses apparently used to have hidden air vents that would blow gusts of wind at random moments and surprise guests. If we could pull off this effect, it might provide some good scare opportunities. *The general focus of this room is to mess with the visitors heads. A multitude of colors and patterns could disorient them and make the scares more effective. If this doesnt work, the color scheme could simply emphasize bloodiness (bloody handprints on mirrors, etc.) *This may be a long shot, but kids funhouses occasionally have ball pits. We could have someone hidden underneath a bunch of colored balls who emerges unexpectedly from beneath them to scare people. CLOWN ENCOUNTER-- SENIORS *Also need a lot of actors here. Clowns with blood on their faces, clowns with rotting teeth, clowns with missing limbs...clowns everywhere. *Clowns who tried to entertain guests but their routine went wrong. Ex. Clown tried to juggle torches but someone ended up getting burned. *Clowns dont interact much with guests (some do but many are standing creepily in corners and staring) *Clowns reside in a really dirty, downtrodden place...trash everywhere, unsanitary conditions *Clowns laugh creepily, talk to all guests as if theyre young children to unnerve them *Balloons all around with creepy messages written on them in marker...guests must navigate their way through them *One of the clowns has a small, squeaky horn...quiet, but guests can still hear it. Once they get closer, however, the clown whips out an air horn and honks it at them (this might be dangerous, though). Best sources for updates: facebook.com/HaddonHS . Twitter: @HaddonHS

HTHS Student Council Haunted House 2013 CHAMBER OF MUTANTS/FREAK SHOW-- JUNIORS *The key here will be people. We need plenty of costumed actors who are willing to dress up as though they are disfigured/deformed. Masks, rubber body parts, etc. will be necessary. *The set-up could be prison-style, as though the mutants are being kept in cages because they are too dangerous. Some people could be on the loose while others are behind bars snarling at people. *There could be fake body parts lying around here as well. Could also be a doctor trying to perform surgery on one of the mutants to cure him with lots of blood, screaming, etc. *Animals (i.e. rats, bugs, etc.) are all around to emphasize horrible conditions. FOOD TENT-- JUNIORS *Set up like a kitchen but with gory ingredients scattered about *Human remains can be seen in fridge/fryers, etc. *Workers have disgusting habits (actors pretend to spit everywhere, etc.) *Some actors who are dressed to look like other visitors are seen getting sick from the food; they have makeup on to make them look pale/nauseous *General setup can be a kitchen on one side and some restaurant-style seating (with sick guests) on the other side, or just the kitchen as the whole room. TUNNEL OF LOVE-- SOPHOMORES *Almost total darkness here and a focus on pop-outs. We can play very subtle sound effects (i.e. dripping, splashing) to add to the simulation of it being a cave/tunnel. *Visitors catch glimpses of prop human hearts and other gruesome sights that ironically reflect the theme of love. *Could also be a location where it starts out seemingly innocent (valentines, happy music) and gets more and more frightening (actual hears, creepy music, death and despair, etc., etc.) FIRST AID AND CHILD CARE CENTER-- FRESHMEN *Essentially a modified version of the day care setup from last year, with some elements of the operating room. *Not only are there medical scenes gone wrong (bloody cuts, surgical instruments, etc.), but there are also kids toys and creepy childrens music scattered about. *Nurses and attendants snarl at guests, perform surgeries, and laugh maniacally. ***This could theoretically be split into two rooms if we decide to remove one of the others.
