Thank you to all of our wonderful Volunteers and the people of Saddleworth for making the opening of our Op Shop a brilliant success. Located at 8 Belvidere St Saddleworth, the Op Shop will be open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 4pm, as well as Saturday mornings from 9am to 12noon.

Carers Week - Free health checks for Carers

This year Carers Week will be celebrated from 13th - 19th of October. This year we are offering free health checks for all registered Carers in the Lower North region. Vouchers will be sent to all registered Carers, which can be presented at participating Medical Centres and at the Riverton Pharmacy. This is a one-off free general health check, where the practice nurse can test your blood pressure, sugar levels, and look at your weight and lifestyle. For more information please contact the Carer Support Team on 1300 686 405. Carers Week is a time to celebrate our wonderful Carers and be Care Aware.

Mens Fishing Retreat

We will be hosting a Mens Fishing Retreat at Marion Bay from 30 October to 1 November 2013. A chance for our male Carers to go fishn and throw a line in over the edge of a 40ft fishing charter vessel out of Marion Bay on the Yorke Peninsula. There are two nights accommodation and most meals provided along with all the fishing gear needed to land that big one. Given that this is quite a physical retreat there will be some degree of physical fitness and independence required to be able to come along. Its Show Time!

SA Country Carers will be at the : BURRA SHOW Saturday 12 October CLARE SHOW Saturday 19 October 2013. At the Clare show we will once again be running a sausage sizzle raising money for our Carers Assistance Scheme.

NEW STAFF
We would like to welcome: Zoe Grivell, our new Respite Support Senior Coordinator (Mental Health), who will be based in Clare. Sharyne Gottwald, our new Carer Support Senior Coordinator, who will be based at Balaklava. We are excited to have Zoe and Sharyne join SA Country Carers. Comedy Night in Balaklava

Back2Basics brings you A Comedy Night at the Markets Saturday the 26th of October 6pm till late Balaklava Town Hall. Featuring live acts Cousins in Concert and Barbershop Quartet and over 20 market stalls to kick off your Christmas shopping. A fundraiser for the awareness of services in the prevention of Suicide. There will be a sausage sizzle, raffles, lucky door prizes and face painting and more. Lots of laughs and plenty to do, Entry is a gold coin donation (Children under 12 free).
