Dear all, The team of the Coaching Open Your Potential is glad to welcome you to this opportunity of building new partnerships! This training will take place in October, 2013 in Stepanavan, Armenia. It will be organised by Stepanavan Youth Center SYC (Armenia). It will bring together 30 participants from 22 organizations from all over EU and EECA region. It aims to provide young people, youth workers and leaders working with disadvantaged youth with skills in coaching and mentoring other young people. Participants will gain practical skills in effective coaching, providing peer support, improving communication skills, setting personal goals and giving feedback to their peers. They will develop plans and projects how to utilize the new skills locally, train others in their organisations acting as multipliers in their home countries as well as develop joint European initiatives. The TC will be implemented in the frames of the Youth in Action programme of the European Commission and was financially supported by the Youth in Action Executive Agency.

Practical information

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE:
Arrival: morning of 4th October, 2013 to Stepanavan, Armenia Departure: afternoon of 11th October, 2013 from Stepanavan, Armenia

PARTICIPANTS
Participant profile: young people, youth workers and leaders working with disadvantaged youth interest to develop own skills in coaching and mentoring other young people support of own organizations to be involved in executing or develop projects and services related to coaching and mentoring of young people

TRAVEL TO ARMENIA:
Zvartnots airport in Yerevan, Armenia or Airport in Tbilisi, Georgia can be considered for flights. For more details visit www.zvartnots.am and www.tbilisiairport.com. For those who will arrive to Yerevan: Option 1 There will be group transfer arranged on 4th October, 2013 at 5:30am directly from the Zvartnots airport to the hotel. It is about 2 hours and 30 minutes drive. At the mentioned time there will be a person with the name of the project at the info point in the arrival hall. In case of any issues please contact Arsen Simonyan +37477077292. Option 2 Another group transfer to the hotel will be arranged at 11:30am 4th October, 2013 from Central bus station in Yerevan (see the link for the map: http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=40.172328&lon=44.490863&z=19&m=b&show=/138194/&search =yerevan%20). Option 3 It is also possible to use public transport for travelling to the venue. From Yerevan Central bus station (see the link above for the map) there are several minibuses going to Stepanavan at 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:30 and 16:30 (mentioned times are approximate and they change depending the load of the passengers). cashier (preferably in advance). Payment can be done only in AMD and only in cash. See map below for the directions after you arrive to Stepanavan bus station. It will take you 20 minutes by walk to reach the hotel. For those who will arrive to Tbilisi: From Tbilisi airport you can take public transport to Ortachala bus station (in case if you arrive during the night there might not be public transport so you have to take a taxi, make sure to negotiate the price in advance it should be around 20-25 GEL). From Ortachala bus station, you can take either 8:00am minibus to Stepanavan or 2:30pm minibus to Spitak and get off in Stepanavan. Please see the map above for directions on how to get to the hotel from Stepanavan bus station. Departure: There will be group transfer arranges on 11th October afternoon for people leaving to Yerevan and to Tbilisi. Details will be planned during the event. Please note that the organisers will not cover any accommodation and food costs outside the project dates.

TRAVEL COSTS:
The Organisers will reimburse 70% of participants' travel costs from the home city to the venue of the TC. Participants will be reimbursed by bank transfer shortly after their return home upon presenting original tickets, invoices and boarding passes. Participants from Georgia and Belarus will be reimbursed during the TC in cash upon presentation of all necessary documents. Please note that travel costs of the participants should not exceed the travel budget limits, which was approved by the Executive agency. Please refer to the table below for travel budget limits for each partner organisation. . If travel costs exceed the amount budgeted in the project, the organisers will only be able to reimburse participants 70% of the maximum travel costs indicated in the travel budget. Participants are therefore strongly advised to book trip travel well in advance. Reimbursement of travel costs will be done upon presentation of all (including return tickets) original tickets, receipts/invoices and boarding passes. Name of the passenger, price, currency, date of purchase should be clearly visible in all documents to be considered for reimbursement. Please remember to bring the original invoice there will be no reimbursement without the original invoice. If a participant is planning to arrive early or depart , please consult with us prior to booking the tickets to make sure it is in the limits of the funders requirements, otherwise we may not be able to provide full reimbursement. Usually one day before and one day after the event is acceptable. Participants planning to travel from/to another country other than the one they represent in the TC, need to check with us prior to the training course, as otherwise we may not be able to reimburse their travel costs.

Reimbursement transferred by bank account will be done in EUR regardless of the currency indicated on your ticket, receipt or invoice. Any ticket purchased in local currency other than EUR will be converted and calculated according to the exchange rate of the month when the ticket was purchased according to official European Commission website

PARTICIPATION FEE
There is 25 Euro participation fee for this training course. It will be deducted from the travel reimbursement.

VISA ARRANGEMENTS:
Armenia and Georgia (for those arriving to Tbilisi) has visa free regime with all the participating countries. If your participants have different citizenship than their country of residence, contact us to clarify if they need visa or not. Please note that European Union citizens require passports (not IDs!) to enter Armenia. Please, check the validity of the passports before the departure.

INSURANCE
Participants are responsible for organizing own health insurance. The costs will not be reimbursed by the organizers.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD:


Participants will be accommodated in Lori Rest Zone in the outskirts of Stepanavan near the forest and mountain. Address: Antarayin st.1, Stepanavan, Armenia Phone: +374 25622323, +37425624444

The hotel provides towels and bed linen. There are toilets and bathrooms in each room. Organisers will provide participants with three times food per day and two coffee breaks. We strongly recommend participants to inform the organisers IN ADVANCE about any special needs such are dietary, vegetarian or any other kind of special needs. For this please indicate your special need in the Arrival/Departure form which is sent together with this document.

COMMUNICATION
Internet Access: There will be internet available in the hotel through wireless network. Sim Cards/Mobile Phones: It is possible to purchase a sim-card with 1-2EUR. With certain operators it is possible to make international calls with a rate of 20 EUR cents.

WEATHER:
The weather in October can be chilly at night and warmer during the day in Stepanavan (0-20C) and warm in Yerevan (up to 20-30C). Make sure you take warm clothes. You can check the forecast following this link: http://www.theweathernetwork.com/maps/current-weather/armenia# .

CHECKLIST/WHAT TO BRING
Flyers, brochures, promotional materials, publications, photos, etc. to represent your organization. Due to time restrictions powerpoint presentations will not be presented. Food, drinks, national items, music, etc. from your country for the intercultural evening. All tickets, invoices and boarding passes related to your travel and visa reimbursement. Medications you regularly use.

In Stepanavan you can use only cash for making payments, but there it is possible to exchange money or use ATM.

1. What experience do you have in the topics of the Training Course (experience in coaching, mentorship, peer education; working with disadvantaged youth (migrants, rural youth, etc.); and youth projects local or international levels)?
I am volunteer coordinator of CLC (Causeni Law Center) volunteer team and as a coordinator I organised many activities related to social rights and justice. We did many activities during these years. Our flash-mobs are the strongest activities to inform the society. During flash-mobs we are distributing leaflets and talking to people, because this way can make a difference.Also I am Human Resources Coordinator at Y-PEER Moldova, a national team which is fighting against AIDs and promote healthy life. One year ago I was involved in a "RED Cross" project as a trainer. Our aim was to involve poor young people in their community.

2. What are your expectations from the TC?


My expectations from the Training Course are: -to discover new ideas, methodes in peer education; -to meet new people who know this field of activities; -to make cooperation between our NGOs for future activities.
