Irving Abbey, a long-time member of ESUMC, recently went home to be with the Lord. Sympathy cards may be sent to his widow, Edith Abbey, at 152 Maple Ave., South Bound Brook, N. J., 08880-1335. Music Ministry

Singers, help benefit local food pantries! Project One Step will be a combined community choir fest on Saturday, November 9, 7:30 pm, at Stroudsburg High School. Now is the time to enlist so music can be ordered. Contact Andy or Pauline for details, or visit www.projectonestep.org
College Care Package Time: Let the Goodies Roll! About this time of the fall, first year college students are beginning to feel a little homesick. A reminder that we miss them too is always helpful! Sara Hennings, Maegen Mostellar, Katelyn Smith, and Natalie Baj sent rousing hoorays and thank yous to all who made their care packages possible last year. Maegen continues to give back by volunteering with the ESUMC youth program and Girls on Track! Please help send the message that ESUMC cares! A box for college-friendly snacks (snack-size candy, cheese and peanut butter crackers, pretzels, cookies, gum, mints, coffee and cocoa packets) will be in Fellowship Hall during the month of October. We will be sending 27 packages out including a letter from an ESUMC youth group member.

They listen, support, encourage, and pray with and for a person who is hurting. In the midst of this confidential, oneon-one caring relationship, Gods healing love comes pouring through. United Methodist Women Meetings: Thank Offering Meeting on November 9th. Throw your change in a jar when you are thankful for something and bring it to the meeting. Money goes to global missions. Contact Linda Drake (424-6038) to reserve a seat on the van for the above event.

Project One Step Benefit Concert Dear Friends in Christ, We want to share information about a concert event taking place in Stroudsburg on Saturday, November 9th. (www.projectonestep.org) will bring Christian artist and composer, PEPPER CHOPLIN (www.pepperchoplin.com) , to Monroe County for a concert. Concert proceeds will be shared by 5 food pantries with coverage areas serving all of Monroe County as well as Pocono Alliances Bridges Out of Poverty program. (www.poconoalliance.org). A massed community choir made up of volunteers from area churches is already rehearsing to perform with Pepper Choplin in 6 choral anthems during his concert. We need help in getting the word out about the event. This concert promises to be a joyful moment in our community. You can help make sure that it also has practical impact in raising awareness and helping to meet the needs of hungry families in Monroe County. Thank you, in advance, for your help. Soup Kitchen Ministry Soup Kitchen leaders are requesting pillows and pillow cases to give out as Christmas presents this year. Approximately 150 needed. Older Kids 55+ - Thanksgiving Dinner A Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at the Monroe County Career and Technical Institute on Monday, November 11th at 12:00 Noon. The price is $7.00 per person. For reservations, call Jean Snyder at 570-421-0485; RSVP by November 3rd. FAMILY PROMISE Thanks to everyone who donated pots and pans to family promise. There was a great response, we collected a little over 3 dozen various pots and pans plus some utensils. Most of them have already been put to good use. Thanks again Clarice Wilkens
