Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. Psalm 95:1-3
Dear Choir and Praise Team Members, Congratulations, you have chosen to be a part of one of the most fulfilling areas of ministry. To be a choir or praise team member means you are an ambassador. First, and foremost, you are an ambassador for Christ. Our lives through the week should reflect what we sing about in worship. Second, you are the front line of recruitment. It is my goal that each service supports a choir for itself, so that the choir can truly become more vital in the worship leading aspect. Until that time, I ask you to support the choir in the service you do not attend. If you are a Sunday School teacher, this expectation is not for you. Your first priority is your class. We have the most sacred responsibility anyone can have: to lead someone into the very presence of our mighty and loving God. Lets always be aware of this responsibility in all we do. Lets join together in exploring the depths of this great opportunity. Hallelujah!

Choir & Praise Team Purpose
The worship ministry at First Baptist Church is comprised of people who believe that God inhabits the praises of His people through music and other expressions of worship. Those who share their gifts of music are reminded that they are worship leaders and God is using them to encourage the church family in worship. The offering of praise instrumentally and vocally should be focused vertically to the Lord and not horizontally to the people. We should all strive for excellence to honor and celebrate our Savior.
Membership in the choir is on a volunteer basis. Church membership is not required. No auditions are required, but the Worship Pastor may request that a new member sing for him.. Although music reading ability or vocal training are not required, every member is encouraged to strive for excellence. Youth choir members are encouraged to participate in the Worship Choir. Members who desire to participate on the praise team or as a soloist should schedule a musical interview with the Worship Pastor.
