Instruct to avoid use of OTC drug with acetaminophen After: 9. Have n-acetylcysteine for antidote 10. Evaluate effectiveness of drug 11. Document

Paracetamol 300mg IVTT q4 hours for T>38 C

Exhibits analgesic -mild to moderate pain action by peripheral and fever blockage of pain impulse generation through inhibiting CNS prostaglandin synthesis. It produces antipyresis by inhibiting the hypothalamic heatregulating center. Its weak inflammatory activity is related to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the CNS.

Omeprazole 40mg IVTT OD

Suppresses gastric acid -reflux esophagitis or secretion by specific GERD (short-term inhibition of the enzyme treatment) system hydrogen -gastric and duodenal present on the secretory Ulcers (short-term surface of the gastric treatment) parietal cell. -Zollinger-Ellison Syndromes, multiple adenomas, systemic mastocytosis)

-hypersensitivity to omeprazole and its components

-diarrhea -nausea and vomiting -fatigue -constipation -flatulence -acid regurgitation -taste perversion -arthralgia -myalgia -urticaria -dizziness -paresthesia -back pain

Observe the 10 rights of proper drug administration During: 6. Drug is not for IV use. Do not inject or mix with other IV solutions 7. Give IM injection in upper outer quadrant of the buttock 8. Withdraw needle as quickly as possible to avoid discomfort 9. Instruct to report difficulty breathing, rashes, severe pain at injection site, mouth sores, unusual bleeding or bruising After: 10. Penicillin G 1.5 mil u q6 hours

Interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis during active multiplication, causing cell wall death and resultant bactericidal activity against susceptible bacteria

-severe infections caused by sensitive organisms (streptococci) -URTI caused by sensitive streptococci -treatment of syphilis, bejel, pinta, yaws -prophylaxis of rheumatic fever and chorea

-allergies to penicillins and cephalosporins -renal disorders

-lethary -hallucination -stomatitis -vomiting -diarrhea -abdominal pain -enterocolitis -nonspecific hepatitis -pseudomambranous colitis -nausea and vomiting -anemia -thrombocytopenia -phlebitis -superinfection
