For complete Prayer Schedule follow this link (2) Next General Elders' Association Meeting set For October 27, 2013 The East Jamaica Conference Elders' Association (Kingston Chapter) invites all Elders, Church Leaders & Pastors to the next scheduled general meeting where special guest presenter, Dr. Gosnell York, Director - E.G. White Resource Center, NCU will address the body on the topic :' The Role of Ellen White in the SDA Church'. This promises to be a very interesting informative session. Please make every effort to be there.

(3) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Community Services Department 1. We thank our churches for the positive embracement of Harvest Ingathering 2013. We congratulate Thornton SDA Church for being the first to reach its ingathering goal and making its remittance to the Conference. We use this opportunity to encourage everyone to continue soliciting and that all treasurers do a weekly remittance to the Conference. 2. Festival of the Laity - in this Year of the Laity November 13 -15, 2013 @ Golden Acres, November 16 at Hagley Park SDA Church and an awards dinner to be held on November 17 at 3 p.m., contribution $1,200. A prelude to Metro 14 (MM14) is a must see for all passionate disciples students of the School of Evangelism (SOE) and delegates chosen for your churches should begin preparation now. Please make every effort to attend! 3. Sabbath School superintendents and Personal Ministries leaders are reminded of the end of quarter report which is now overdue (10th October 2013). Congratulations to Content Gap for being the first church to send their third Quarter report on time. 4. Week of Generosity/Day of Kindness October 12-17, 2013. All churches are encouraged to send a report of your project (in your cluster) to the Personal Ministries Department. 5. Monthly Adventist Community Services (ACS) Leaders meeting continue on Sunday, October 27 at 10 a.m. in the EJC Chapel. The second special seminar for all Community Services leaders & volunteer will be held on November 2, 2013 at 4 p.m at Half Way Tree SDA Church. This will help persons prepare for investiture on November 16, 2013 at the Festival of the Laity.

Metro Mission 2014 (MM 14) Meeting All ministerial interns, Bible workers and other evangelistic workers are invited to attend a special meeting on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 9 a.m in the EJC Chapel. 7. The long awaited Senior Citizens month celebration is here: The Zones 1-3 Senior Citizens Convention will be held on Sabbath, November 23, 2013 at the Constant Spring SDA Church, 9 a.m and Zone 4 Convention at Morant Bay SDA on November 30. Banquet will be held on Sunday, November 24, at the Police Officers Club, starting at 3 p.m cost $1000. The deadline for payments is November 7. We seek your support. Belated birthday greetings to our seniors, born January to September & happy birthday to our October celebrants; wishing you good health and long life. 8. EJC School of Evangelism (EJC SOE) final general class meeting - November 3, 2013, 9:30 a.m 12:30 p.m in the EJC boardroom - PLEASE TAKE YOUR REFRESHMENT. 9. The EJC School of Evangelisms team expresses thanks for your support of our Monthly Fasting & Prayer. We encourage you to continue praying in your clusters. (4) Nominations are invited for the East Jamaica Conference Youth Ministries Awards

The East Jamaica Conference Youth Ministries Department invites nominations for the 2013 EJC Youth Ministries Awards. These Awards will be the highest honours given to youth of East Jamaica Conference between the ages of 1635 years in the areas of: Pathfindering, Academics, Evangelism, Music, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Community Involvement. The criteria as well as the application forms for the awards may be accessed from the EJC Youth Ministries Department at 74 Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10 or may be downloaded from the Youth Ministries Department of the EJC website at this link. Requests for the form may be sent via email to youthcomms@gmail.com and the application form will be provided electronically. (5) Notices from the Women's Ministries Department 1. Directors Appreciation, Graduation for Soft Skills Training and Levels 2 & 3 Leadership Certification Training will be held December 7, 2013. Venue to be decided. 2. GEMS 4 day workshop takes place this week end, October 24 -27, 2013 at the Holiday Inn Spree . This leadership seminar is designed at empowering our mentees to commit their lives to a higher standard of living and to be standard bearers. They will be expected to conduct and sustain a similar program or aspects of it in their church/ school community for at least one year. GEMS fall under the umbrella of the WM Department. One of its main objectives is to teach our females to commit themselves to the ideals and ideas embedded in the words eloquence, morals and standards and to provide mentorship that will bring out the best, amidst the challenges they face. The theme is GEMS Called to Serve We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere.

Tips for Parents

Parents, although God has given every one the option to choose whether to obey or disobey, obedience should never be an option, but instead the rule. Remember; teach us to obey you daily.

(6) Notices from the Children's Ministries Department

1. JEWELS Botanical Retreat December 23, 2013. Aunties and Uncles, get ready for this. 2. All Child Preachers are asked to get ready to participate in the Festival of the Laity to be held on November 16, 2013. 3. EJC Bible Spell-a-thon finals will be held on November 9, 2013 Kingsway School. 4. EJC Bible Spell-a-thon Awards will be held on November 17, 2013 @ EJC. 5. All CMDs whose children are engaged in the Child Preachers Training currently are asked to send the names of the children to the office immediately as well as their assignments.
