The Generosity Factor

GET CONNECTED! The Get Connected form in the bulletin is for you to ll out and place in the offering basket after the message. Let us know you were here! Our offering goes to support the ministry of the gospel locally through Creekstone and Campus Outreach, regionally through our church planting partnerships, and globally thorough the missionary families we support overseas in India and Africa. Your giving is making a difference! THE GENEROSITY FACTOR Money is not just a secular, nancial issue; it is a profoundly theological, spiritual issue. In fact, how we view and use money is one of the most signicant factors in determining the level of joy we will experience in this life. Since there are few subjects that have more potential to unlock a new personal and spiritual vitality in individuals and families, we are going to take six weeks to explore The Generosity Factor, a sermon series through Nov. 24 that will help us discover how Gods view of money and possessions really can revolutionize our lives. THE 2013 VISION BANQUET TONIGHT AT THE LUMPKIN CO. PARK AND REC! Please plan to join us at Dahlonega Park and Rec tonight from 5:30-7:00 p.m. for Creekstones annual Vision Banquet. This will be unlike any other banquet weve had in the past, being a true vision banquet, as we look forward toward what it will take for us to particularize and where we think the Lord is leading us in the years ahead. These are exciting days. Please plan to be a part of envisioning it together! FREE ICE CREAM FOR THE FIRST 40 Creekstone Youth is hosting a Free Ice Cream for the First 40 at Connies on the Square after school on Friday, Nov. 1. Its true, the rst 40 middle or high school students who show up will get a free one-scoop cone! FALL FESTIVAL Phi Mu at UNG is hosting a community-wide fall festival at the school promenade (between library and old student center) this Tuesday, October 29, from 6-8pm. Join in the fun with pumpkin carving, face painting, cake walks and more. COMMUNION Our next Communion Sunday is planned for Sunday, Nov. 10. GRACEKIDS! GraceKids is a teaching environment during the morning service that is designed for children ages 3 through 5th grade. Children who wish to participate in GraceKids will be dismissed from the service just before the sermon. Parents may pick up their children after the service. THE SUNDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP The Sunday Night Fellowship for college age folks will not meet tonight due to the Vision Banquet. Hope to see you at the Park & Rec Center instead! one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. (ESV)

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION & DISCUSSION

1) 2) 3) 4) 5) In what way has your life been affected by the plague of materialism)? What does Jesus mean when says that my heart follows my money? In other words, what is the relationship between faith and nances? How is generosity the antidote to materialism? What fuels, or motivates, genuine from the heart, grace-inspired generosity? So, what does it mean if my giving is motivated by duty or guilt, or if I am not giving at all? In view of the gospel, what practical steps toward generosity can you take this week?
