Morning Prayer @ 8:30 a.m. – All worship participants gather for prayer each Sunday at 8:30
a.m. As we grow into a house of prayer for all people, you are welcome to join them any Sunday!

Journey Group Meets Today – The Life Liners meet for Prayer, Bible Reading, and Fellowship
today in the classroom following the 10:45am service. All are welcome. See Leon Wheeler.

SoJ’s Hispanic Ministry – During the summer SoJ’s Hispanic Ministry meets Sundays at 1pm for
Bible study, prayer, fellowship meals and special activities for the families. All are welcome!

Young Adult Community Planning Tuesday – Anyone interested in planning activities for the
Young Adult Community at SoJ for the remainder of the summer is invited to a meeting this Tues-

Men’s Lunch Wednesday – All men are invited to enjoy lunch and conversation from 11:45am-

“When God’s People Pray” Adult Study Wednesday – Join Pastor Jeff and SoJ’s Prayer Vision
Team 7pm Wednesday for a video Bible study with Pastor Jim Cymbala of the Brooklyn Tabernacle
entitled When God’s People Pray. Discover the keys that unlock the power of prayer!

Leadership Team Meets Thursday – 7 p.m. in the Youth Room.

New Vision Concert Friday – New Vision, a Youth Encounter team who visited us last year and
then traveled to Australia, will present a concert for all ages this Friday at 7 p.m.! Don’t miss it!

Youth Lock-In Friday – All youth, grades 6-12, are invited to a Lock-In this Friday. It begins with
the New Vision Concert at 7pm. After the concert, we will hang out with the New Vision Team and
enjoy food, games, more music, and conversation. Bring $2-3 for food and your friends!

Women’s Fellowship Tea Saturday – All women are invited to a “Cuppa” Tea with a Prayer
Social at SoJ Saturday from 1 to 3pm. Bring your favorite cup and the story of why it’s special.

Guest Worship Team Sunday – The worship team from the Church of the Great Commission will
be leading music for both services Sunday. You will not want to miss this opportunity to
experience the breadth of the church of God. Our Joyful Noise will provide music for their
worship!

Women's Book Club – SoJ’s Book Club meets Tuesday, July 17, at 7:15pm to discuss "Water for
Elephants" by Sara Gruen. Call Diane Belk at 407-249-9195 for more info. All women welcome.

Congregational Wet ‘n Wild Outing – Sign up today for an all-congregation outing to the Wet
‘n Wild water park. We identified two Saturday options, July 28th and August 4th. Sign-up at the
Welcome Center to identify which date(s) work. We’ll pick the date preferred by the majority. The
group rate will be approximately $24 for adults and $20 for children up to 9 years old.

First Communion – At SoJ parents decide when their children are ready for communion. A two
session class for parents and children will be held this summer. Sign-up at the Welcome Center!

Get Acquainted Gathering, August 5 – If you are new to SoJ, a Get Acquainted Gathering will
be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday August 5th at Pastor Jeff and Patti’s. Enjoy some dessert and
conversation with the Linmans and others new to SoJ. Sign up at the Welcome Center soon!

Oceanfront Re-Member Your Baptism Celebration August 12 – We are offering an

opportunity for everyone to affirm and re-member their Baptism, Sunday, August 12 at 4 p.m. in
the Atlantic Ocean in Cocoa Beach. Come early to enjoy the beach! If you have never been
baptized, this would be a great time to talk to Pastor Jeff! We’ll adjourn afterwards to the
community room of the Beumer’s condo, where we’ll enjoy a potluck cook-out! Carpooling will be
offered. Sign-up soon!

Women’s Bible Study – Calling all women! Mark August 14 on your calendars! The women of
SoJ are starting a new Bible study on the book of James. We meet the second Tuesday of the
month at 7:15 p.m. for fellowship and faith building. Questions? Call Mitz Oates at 407-277-7916.

Monday Ministry Night – Many of our Ministry Teams will meet Monday from 7 to 8:30 pm. This
is a great time to get involved!

Bicycle Ministry – This unique SoJ ministry provides bicycles to people in need. Volunteers are
needed. Meet in the back storage room at 10 a.m. the 2nd Saturday each month, and 10 a.m.
Wednesdays. Sign up at the Welcome Center. Questions? Call Will Stevenback: 407-401-1963.

Adult Literacy Training – The Adult Literacy League has over forty adults who need help to
become functionally literate. The next training session will be August 2 and August 4. If you have
1 ½ hours a week to prepare a lesson, tutor, and enjoy changing a life, this is a great opportunity.

SoJ Quilters – QUILTERS meet the first Monday of each month. We need volunteers to cut
squares and sew backs at home. Workers are needed so please join us and plan to go to lunch

Congregational Care Team Update – SoJ’s Congregational Care Team offers spiritual, emotional
and physical care for those in need. If you know of someone in the hospital or sick at home, call
SoJ’s office 407-282-4569 so we know of the need and can respond accordingly through both the
pastoral staff and the Congregational Care Team. The Team is looking to start a "transportation"
ministry for those that need rides to church or to doctor's appointments. To become involved in
any way, contact Pam Rousseau 407-568-4093 or Marsha Call 407-375-7813.

Youth Recycling Project – SoJ’s youth are now able to recycle inkjet, laser cartridges, AND cell
phones. Please bring your empty cartridges and unused cell phones to the Welcome Center
and drop them into the appropriate boxes. Thanks for partnering with us in this fundraiser!

Paid Ministry Staff Needs @SoJ! SoJ is interviewing candidates for the following positions:
Family Ministry (children & youth), Young Adult / Discipleship Ministry, and Nursery Attendant
(8:30 to 12:30am Sundays). If you or someone you know would like to apply, speak to Pastor Jeff
today.

Giving Update: While gifts to SoJ’s General Operating Budget have been solid all year, we have
been falling behind in gifts received for our Building Fund! Whatever help you can provide will be
appreciated! Also when you’re completing your checklist for things to do before heading off for
vacation this summer, don’t forget to drop off or mail in your offering for SoJ!

Joy Singers – Our adult choir, open to anyone from high school age and up, will resume
rehearsals this Wednesday at 7pm. All are welcome!

Joyful Noise – Our Sunday morning worship team rehearses on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. We are
currently looking for an additional bass player and vocalists. Interested? Contact Phil Greve.

Drama Team – SoJ's Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing
their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience. If you would like to be involved in
the Drama Team, please contact Sandy and Doug Gaston at 407-382-4027.

Private Music Lessons – The Creative Arts Studio has 11 instructors teaching almost every
instrument and voice. For more information or to register, pick up a flyer in the Welcome Center.
