S.H.A.R.E. Distribution day is Saturday, October 26 in the Multipurpose Room from 6:30am-8:45am. ************ This Sunday, October 27 you will be able to receive your flu shot at Macedonia following the 10:45am service. You must be age 2 to 65 and have your current insurance card or come prepared to pay a fee. Please register at the Information Center. ************ Dr. Hamlin has accepted an invitation to preach on Sunday, November 3 at 3:30 pm for the Ushers and Nurses Unit at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 6477 Lincolnia Road, Alexandria, VA 22312. The congregation is invited along with UIW and our Usher and Nurses Ministries. Dinner will be served following their 11:00 a.m. worship until 2:45 p.m. The church bus will be available for transports and you must reserve your seat for $5 at the Information Center. Join MBC Walkers for Christ at the annual Heart Walk on Saturday, November 9. The walk will be at Nationals Stadium on South Capital Street, Washington, DC. For additional information contact Sis. Vicki Marshall. ************ The next Noon Day Hour of Power will be Wednesday, November 20 at which time Rev. Lois L. Nicholson will bring the preached word. Matthew 25:35 (NIV) Macedonia and the Nauck Community Services Center (NCSC) has partnered to Feed Those Who Are Less Fortune on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013 at Macedonia Baptist Church from 1- 4 pm. Each Thursday evening is Youth Bible Study for all ages from 7-8pm in the sanctuary. ************ On Saturday, March 29, 2014, were going back to the Sight and Sound Theater to see the production of MOSES!! Once the office receives your request, a tribal leader will contact you. We have found that members come out to listed meetings only to find out it has been cancelled. COMMUNITY NEWS:
We are excited about Congressman Moran's upcoming Annual Women's Issues Conference on Saturday, October 26, at George Washington Middle School, 1005 Mt. Vernon Ave., Alexandria, VA. In order to not conflict with the Alexandria Breast Cancer Walk, we have adjusted our schedule slightly. Registration and information tables will begin at 9:00am, our keynote speaker will begin at 10:00am, and the conference will conclude with a light lunch at 1:00pm. Coat distribution to the community will take place on Saturday, December 14th. See the attached flyer with all the details. ************ Virginia Hospital Center is facilitating a FREE six-week Bereavement Workshop beginning Wednesday, November 6, 2013. See the attached flyers for additional details and dates. ************ Family Skate Nights Join the crowd at Thomas Jefferson Center every Saturday night from October 19, 2013 to March 29, 2014 (No skate on 11/30, 12/21 and 12/28). The evenings start with Family Skating from 6:30-9pm and close with Teen Nights from 9-10:45pm. There is also a live D.J., $1.00 (cash only) moon bounces and the snacks from the caf. Free Trees at Annual Tree Distribution Event Arlington County's Natural Resources Division is providing 700 native tree species for residents. This opportunity helps expand Arlington's tree canopy while enhancing the landscape of your house, school, church or other residential property. The trees will be available for pick up on Saturday, October 26 at the Arlington County nursery facility (located in South Arlington on South Four Mile Run, behind Barcroft Field #6), 8am-3pm. Parking is available within the parking lot in front of the ball field. All participants are encouraged to walk to the event. Parents' Night Out Let us watch the kids while you enjoy a Friday night out! Join us at Walter Reed Community Center where children ages 4-11,will enjoy face painting, balloon art, make and take art projects, healthy snacks, movies, bounce house, play field games and more! Now that Arlington Mill is open wed like to know what additional programs and services youd like to see at Arlington Mill. Please take this short survey to help us gauge community interest. Got a tree you love? Nominate it for an Arlington County Notable Tree designation. There's no cost to nominate and no obligation to the tree owner, but your favorite tree will be recognized by the County Board as an important natural resource to the community. Nominations due December 1. Bill Thomas Award The Bill Thomas Outstanding Park Service Award is calling for nominations! Do you know someone who is dedicated to park services and improving our community? This award is to pay tribute to park volunteers and encourage residents who demonstrate commitment and support for the parks programs, natural resources and public open spaces. Bible Study Schedule at 7pm Each 1st Wednesday will be Corporate Prayer and Praise. Everyone is encouraged and invited to attend. Every 2nd Wednesday of the month will be Pastors Bible Study which is open to everyone. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month will be Mens and Womens Bible Study. Each 4th Wednesday will be Young Adult Bible Study. The 5th Wednesday of each month will be Leadership Night. All leaders of MBC will meet with Pastor Hamlin. ************ Parents, while you are in service or performing ministry, please be mindful that you are responsible to know where your children are at all times. If you permit them to leave you for restroom breaks, etc., they must return to you at an appropriate time and not be left unsupervised. We appreciate your cooperation. ************ PLEASE TAKE NOTE: There should be no walking in the sanctuary during prayer, the message or altar call, unless you are coming to the altar.
