Job Description: PURPOSE: Summarize briefly the major function and purpose of the position. Responsible for the management and strategic direction of the US Surface Wellhead Marketing Organization. Key responsibilities of the Marketing Organization include: Market Analysis Market Communications & Branding Share & Competitor Analysis Quotations & Sales Support Contracts & Pricing Budget Process The marketing manager will direct market analysis and investment priorities by maintaining awareness of competitor positioning, managing information subscriptions and overseeing the computation of a market share. Manages the US Surface Wellhead proposal process, strategic and tactical pricing process, works closely with sales, engineering and field support to ensure internal and external requirements are satisfied. Manages the contract review and negotiation process for Surface Technologies in the Western Region (including Canada and Latin America).

The marketing manager will manage marketing communications, budget, scope and messaging for internal and external communications, trade shows, and industry and customer events in the US Region. ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: What are the minimum qualifications an employee must have in order to perform the duties of the position? (I.e. educational requirements, licenses, certification, work experience, training etc.) B.A. or B.S. required in Marketing, Finance, Business, or Engineering; MBA or relevant industry and product knowledge preferred. Minimum of 8 years of energy-related business experience including customer-facing responsibilities Previous management experience. Must have exceptional communication skills. Required to communicate at all levels in the organization as well as with a global audience, customers, and media. Exceptional negotiation, planning, and project management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact with customers and co-workers in a team-based environment. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume environment with minimum supervision. Required to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and contracts. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires. Must have thorough understanding of the impact on pricing in the profitability of a business. Ability to think strategically and effectively gain support for new ideas. Available to travel up to 30% of the time, domestically and internationally

Advanced software training, product training, Quality Training, negotiation skills, Advanced Personal Computer and Systems, and SAP Business Systems. Contract negotiations RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate positions that report directly to this position. Number of direct / indirect reports. Manage 5-6 direct reports, including Quotations Supervisor, Pricing & Contract Specialists, and Business Analysts. Will assist with training, orientation, review and evaluation of less experienced staff within the Sales and Marketing Team. Indicate internal/external contacts and purpose of contacts. Coordination between business unit's personnel and corporate Legal and Tax departments. Clarifications with internal and external customers. Frequent interaction with sales, quotations, field, project management, product management and senior management. Must demonstrate highly effective interpersonal and negotiation skills. Indicate internal/external contacts and purpose of contacts. Will work with sales, marketing and business personnel, along with key contacts within the US Surface Wellhead management team. Significant customer and information supplier interaction is expected. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY: Indicate budget/revenue responsibility. Manages expenses of the Marketing organization Explain the degree of supervision/guidance, procedures/ processes used, judgement, creativity, planning & resourcefulness needed to do the job. Works independently with complex and involved projects to present new pricing and contractual strategies to the US Sales Manager and other members of top management in which they will base important decisions. Functions as a leader and significant contributor to complex issues and projects. Must use experience and skills to meet or exceed expectations for department goals. Objectives for the department are well defined. How are errors detected and what is possible impact of those errors? Errors may significantly impact market prices; sales volume; profit margins; and terms and conditions with customer base. Errors can have significant consequences on the financials through contractual risks not detected, improper margin assumptions, and failure of identification of consequential damages. Error impact could exceed $250K. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Frequent air travel is required for pricing strategies development and implementation. E/N Duties and Responsibilities E Direct and prioritize analysis and reporting activities to including market trends, customer activity and competitor positioning. E Manage the Marketing and Sales Support team. E Maintain the Strategic Customer targeting and development process. E Manage the Marketing Communications team in Trade Show execution, Customer Event execution and internal communications. E Supply information to the Monthly Performance Review package for management review. E Prepare budgets for marketing, analysis and communications and execute to plan. E Coordinate new product introduction process for the US market with global product lines.

E Manages contracts and subscriptions to trade publications, industry information databases and consulting providers. E Implements, monitors and maintains price list and pricing strategy for US Surface Wellhead, including coordination of price increases. E Communicates pricing guidelines to sales team. E Reviews all quotations and blanket proposals and elevates to the appropriate management level for final approval. E Ensures that all contractual terms are agreed, accepted and incorporated into the performance of the contract. E Assist in the preparation of project bid proposals including: taxes, use, sales, excise, duties and custom fees. E Investigates customer's buying habits. Customer profiles (from won/lost info) are recorded for future review and quotation pricing. E Develops appropriate market pricing for new product introduction and strives to slow pricing erosion/deterioration from field perceptions. E Preparation of legal and business qualification and/or exception statements to protect the company's business interests. E Review, manage and oversee all contracts in Western Region Surface Technologies. Includes negotiation and final acceptance of Customer contracts. E Support the business unit in the review and risk assessment, establishment, management and close out of all major contracts. E Identification of risk within contracts and prepares/presents risk assessment to management. E Prepares and provides on-site presentations of regional pricing models and interacts with other areas of the business to gather information and to gain strong field and sales support for pricing guidelines. (sales personnel, market researchers, manufacturing and operations). E Identifies opportunities and specific product parts when possible, to reduce costs, increase speed, and increase flexibility in supply chains. Interacts with the supply chain group to identify areas of profitability concerns and to communicate areas where procurement costs may be reduced. E Develops innovative approaches to pricing management using an awareness of industry cost drivers and identifies and realizes pricing increase opportunities to achieve yearly profit increase targets. E Supervises support personnel. Serves as a mentor and provides technical guidance to less experienced staff. May assist with training, monitoring and coaching less experienced staff. E Represents the Sales / Pricing function in the SAP business system as a Super User or Local Process Owner. E Attends and represents FMC at meetings with customers to discuss commercial terms. E Maintains timely administrative duties such as expense report submittals and monthly comment letter input. This job description is a general description of essential job functions.
