Professor of Sociology (BS-21)

Minimum Requirements for Professor under TTS To be eligible for appointment or promotion to the rank of Professor, the faculty member is required to have a Ph.D/Relevant terminal qualification from a recognized and reputable institution in the relevant field with either 11-years post-Ph.D/Relevant terminal degree or minimum of 7-years of post-Ph.D experience with at least 12 years of experience prior to the Ph.D. The experience to be counted is to be of teaching/research in a recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization. In addition 15 research publications (with at least 5 publications in the past 5 years) in Internationally abstracted Journals, recognized for the purpose of appointment on Tenure Track by the Higher Education Commission, are required.

Associate Professor of Sociology (BS-20)

Minimum Requirements for Associate Professor on permanent/ contract posts BS-20 Ph. D. in Sociology / Economics from an HEC recognized University / Institution / with 10-years teaching / research experience in an HEC recognized University or a postgraduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization. OR 5-years post-Ph. D. teaching / research experience in an HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in National or International organization. PLUS 10-research publications (with at least 4- publications in last 5years) in HEC recognized Journals.

(Pakistan) or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education as determined by the HEC in Physics/ Food Sciences / (Finance / Business Finance/ HRM/ Marketing), Botany from an HEC recognized University / Institution with 4-years teaching / research experience in a recognized University or a Postgraduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.

Minimum Requirements for Assistant Professor under TTS To be appointed as an Assistant Professor on Tenure Track, the candidate is required to have a Ph.D/Relevant terminal qualification from a recognized institution and excellent written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills. An Assistant Professor should be demonstratively competent in the subject matter areas of course taught and should have indicated a serious commitment to teaching, but it need not be expected that an extensive reputation in the field has been acquired. As Assistant Professor continuous in this rank an effort to increase knowledge and improve teaching ability should be demonstrated, and professional presentation should be made through papers two professionals organizations, through publications, or through other creative work. Masters Degree (First Class under Annual System, CGPA 3/4, 4/5, 5/6 under Semester System) or equivalent degree awarded after 16 Years of education in Agriculture (Forestry & Range Management), (Finance / Business Finance / HRM/ Marketing), Microbiology from HEC recognized University / Institution with no 3rd division in the academic career. No experience required. OR 2nd class Masters Degree with higher qualifications (Masters Degree (foreign)/ M. Phil. (Pakistan) OR equivalent degrees awarded after 18 years of education as determined by the HEC in Agriculture (Forestry & Range Management) / (Finance / Business Finance/ HRM/ Marketing), Microbiology with no 3rd division in the academic career from an HEC recognized University / Institution). Note: The candidate holding a higher degree vis. M. Phil. / Ph. D. or equivalent degree but with only one 3rd division in the entire academic career are eligible to apply. REQUIREMENTS: i) M.Phil in the relevant subject. ii) No third division or grade-D in the academic career iii) Must be registered as a Ph.D scholar in the relevant subject at B.Z. University Multan. iv) Maximum duration of the appointment will be 3 years. Initially the Research Associate will be appointed for one year extendable for other year subject to satisfactory performance. v) The research Associate shall execute a deed of agreement to the effect that he/ she will complete the Ph.D. degree requirement within 3 years and that in case he/she left the Ph.D studies within 3 years or does not complete the PhD degree within 3 years his/her appointment as Research Associate shall stand automatically cancelled and he/she will refund the remuneration of research scholar already paid to him/her.

GENERAL Candidates are required to submit five (05) sets of applications for the post (s) of Professors & Associate Professors on the prescribed forms along with attested copies of degrees, result cards, transcripts and certificates with Research Work / Publications. In case, degree has not been issued, a certificate to that effect signed by the Controller of Examinations might be accepted. In all cases, statement of experience must be supported by certificates from the employers.

II. Application forms can be had from the Deputy Registrar (Admin-I) by hand or by mail by sending a large size self-addressed envelop with Rs.35/- postage stamps. Forms will not be sent by post if an envelope as indicated is not sent. In case, application forms are required by courier service etc., a Bank draft of Rs.100/- in favour of the Treasurer, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan be sent. Application form can also be down loaded from B.Z. University web site: www.bzu.edu.pk. III. Applicants from abroad may submit their applications on plain paper, but they must supply complete bio-data along with copies of degrees/testimonials and experience certificates without which the application will not be considered. IV. Candidates applying for more than one post shall submit separate application forms with necessary documents, complete in all respect. V. Applications must be accompanied with bank draft (non- refundable) of Rs.2000/- for the post of Professor, Associate Professor Rs.1000/- for the posts of Assistant Professor & Lecturer, Research Associate and Press & Publication Officer in favour of the Treasurer, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. Applicants from abroad must send with their application a draft of $ 15/- (US) drawn in favour of the Treasurer. VI. A most recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the application form.

VII. Candidates already in service of a Government/ Semi-Government Department or an Autonomous Body must apply through proper channel by the due date, otherwise their application will not be entertained. Applications received after the last date will not be entertained, even though posted before the last date. Incomplete applications shall also not be entertained. VIII. 2 % quota is reserved for disabled / Special persons, candidates attached the certificate of disability issued from the Assessment Board for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons. (For BS-02 to BS-05). AGE. Not less than 18 years and not more than 30 years, provided that the Competent Authority may in special circumstances wage the age limit. (For BS-02 to BS-05). Last date for receipt of applications for Sr. No. 1-7 will be 20.12.2013 and for Sr.No. 8-23 will be 20.11.2013 in the office of the Registrar, during office hours.
