Timing Chain Chain has thre.e alignment marks: ' Has one copper ink (aligns with mark on the intake camshaft sprocket) Two chrome links (aligns with pip mark on the crankshaft and the exhaust camsha sprocket) The chain can be installed either from the top or bottom of cylinder head. It is possible to use mechanics wire to pul the timing chain up from the bottom (must be installed around bolt boss). , Camshaft Gears Camshaft gears are nterchangeable, with specific marks to indcate intake or exhaust (depending on which camshaft its being installed). The back of the sprocket has key sg on the Camshaft gear marks should align with links on the timing chain when properly aligned.
