Dear Martha and Charlotte,

I am writing to you from London — being here , which is exciting and challenging.

Charlotte, thank you for our conversation the other day, it was was very enlighteningor it and I
thank you very much f. As per you suggestedr advice, please find attachedhere is my CV and
below a paragraph about myself. Just out of interest, I have both an Australian and British
passports.
Before I moved to London Martha very kindly gave her time to talk about my trip and what I was
hoping to achieve from it.

Aims

I spoke of hoping:

• to do a course at the Script Factory, which Martha thought that this would bewas a
brilliant idea; and. I also spoke of my desire
• to do a Talent Escalator programme at anyone of London’s great companies —like:
Blueprint, Ruby, DNA, Channel 4, Kudos etc. ! yethopenot given up have , I an
internshipe securand as yet have not been able too far I have had meeting with twelve
companies , s

{Meliddissa, I’m not sure how this next paragraph fits into the story of your email. Also, I’m not
really sure what you are asking them for. They probably know …  C}The Screen Australia/Film
Four Producer Internship program would be a fantastic, ideal, and a very exciting
opportunity, I will definitely apply for this programme. The programme would be a
dream come true and absolutely what I am actively searching for as I am determined to
improve my knowledge of the international marketplace.

Progress
I have been accepted here in London into a diploma in Script Editing course at the
Script Factory, which I am over the moon about. I very much see this as the important
next step in developing my skills, my career, and my projects. When I left Australia, this
kind of course or training was not available.

So far, I have had meeting with twelve companies without securing an internship, though I still
have hope!
Need
t afford to do the course. noI understand from my conversation with Charlotte that Screen
Australia don’t fund education. This puts me in a rather unfortunate position as I canThe
Script Editing course at the Script Factory course costs £3,250 with a £500 deposit due by 31
July. The course starts in September. Unfortunately, I can’t afford it.

Although, I understand from my conversation with Charlotte that Screen Australia doesn’t fund
education, I would be grateful if …. {M I think you need to say what you are asking for. C}

Approach
Like Charlotte, I invested in my future by attending AFTRS, which was fantastic, I have
made many award winning films, developed many rewarding creative relationships and
due to my education some of films have screened on the ABC, and NITV. I also worked
as Essential Viewing /Goal Post Pictures Drama Development Executive for a few years –
I see the Script Factory experience as an opportunity to make to accentuate my skills
and work practice, also to make international contacts, to network, to improve my
script writer - creative producer communication, And to bring these learned skills and
contacts back to Australia to make many great films and television.
I am absolutely passionate about scripts, finding them, reading them, developing them,
editing them, producing them. I am in the film and television industry because I love
stories, I want to extend my skills, to learn more effectively how to turn a great story or
moment or theme into a great film. I have four great feature films in development, one
is a UK/Australian co –production.

My experience at Essential Viewing /Goal Post Pictures lead me to realise there are
many fabulous writers in Australia, I can’t wait to work with them. The experience at
the Script factory would be an opportunity to up skill my existing passion and
experience. I will be able to extend my skills thus award immaculate script design to
market ready final draft scripts and be able to contribute to the creation of better films
for Australia and the international market place.

{M, Is this a heading? I find it a bit hard to tell where the para about you starts and where the
email ends/restarts etc. The 3 paras above this one sound like CV stuff (rather than email).
