One of the keys to displaying firearms to potential customers, accessing them for testing or maintenance, or simply enjoying a collection is proper storage with easy accessibility. To that end many different types of racks have been developed and are available on this site. As with any valuable item, security is also a concern. A safe fulfills the security aspect very well, but often leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to other needs. All of the rack designs sold on this site are intended to be used inside a secure room or for portable temporary use where security is not a factor. Upright Handgun Rack This compact portable rack design will hold pistols and revolvers in the safe or at the gun show. The HR model as shown in the pictures and drawings has a 1" wide barrel notch which works well with revolvers and narrow automatics like M1911s and Tokarevs. The HRW model has a 1 1/4" wide barrel notch which is more suitable for Glocks and similar automatics. Optional legs to provide 4" of clearance, 9" total height, for storage of magazines, ammunition and accessories under the rack are available. (Add 1 1/2" to the width.) See drawing and pricing below. Optional legs to double stack the racks with 2" clearance between them, 12" total height, are available. (Add 1 1/2" to the width.) See drawing and pricing below. Base price is for sanded, unfinished (no paint, stain, or sealer) racks as shown above. Staining and sealing, felt, and shipping are extra. All material is 3/4" cabinet grade plywood. The amount of self adhesive 3/4" wide black felt required based on this application is listed to aid in ordering separately and is shipped on a roll for application by the customer. Rotary Handgun Rack This rotating 11" diameter rack holds 8 pistols allowing easy access to each one in a safe or closet. It also makes a nice display on a desk on in a gun room. Note that this rack is designed for semi-automatic pistols and that revolvers typically will not work well. Enough room must be allowed for the grips which project beyond the base of the rack.
