INTRODUCTION
TheJLGdesignedSMARTSystem"Isamotorcontrolunitinstalledonelectricliftvehicles,providingcontrolofaccelera-
tion,deceleration,crsepandmmamumspeedforlift,driveandotherfunctions.Thehandheldanalyzerprovidesdiagnostic
&configurationcapabilities.
-Theanalyzerhasatwolinedisplayandsixbuttons(LEFT&RIGHTarrows,UP&DOWNarrows,ESCandENTER).Thedis-
playshowsvariousmenus,diagnosticmeasurementsandconfigurationsettings.Thebuttonsmovebetweenthevarious
displayitemsandadjustthemflfpossible).
CONNECTINGTHEHANDHELDANALVZER
-Connectoneendofthecable,suppliedwiththeanalyzer,tothecorrectfourpinconnectoronthemotorcontrolunit;there
willbeonlyoneconnectorwhichcorrectlyfitsthecable.
Connecttheotherendofthecabletotheanalyzer.
NOTE: The ends of the cable are identical and can be reversed; the cable end can only be Inserted oneway into the matching
connector.
Powerupthevehiclebyturningthekeytotheplatformorgroundpositionandpullingtheemergencystopbuttonson;this
willpowertheSMARTSystem andtheanalyzer. .
USINGTHEHANDHELDANALYZER
Theanalyzerwilldisplaythecurrenttoplevelmenuitem,forexample:

PressLEFT&RIGHT(Q, El) tomovebetweenmenuitems;pressENTERtoselectthedisplayedmenuitem..
WhenatopTeveimenuitemisselected,anewsetofmenuitemsmaybeoffered;pressLEFT&RIGHTarrowsthenENTER
againtoselecttherequireditem.
Tocancelaselectedmenuitem,pressESC;thenadifferentmenuitemcanbechosen.
-Theavailablemenuitemswillvarydependingonthevehicle;checkthevehiclemanualformoreinformation.
CHANGINGTHEACCESSlEVELOFTHEHANDHELDANALYZER
-Whentheanalyzerisfirstconnected, itsaccess levelensuresthatmostconfigurationscannotbechanged;thisensures
thatasettingcannotbeaccidentallyaltered.
Tochangetheaccesslevel,aPASSWORDmustbeentered;thepasswordmustbeknown.
