Among all the health problems in children worm infestation is most common . CAUSES. 1. Eating soil , chalk, brick pirces (non edible things.) by children. 2. Not washing hands after visiting toilet. 3. Eating without washing hands. 4. Walking bare footed. 5. Eating food contaminated by flies. 6. Playing in soil. 7. Open air defecation. 8. Eating row food/ fruits without washing.

1. Tape worm- these worms are flat and long . they are found in human intestines , are white or light yellow colored. They have an organ called sucker which gets attached to the intestine and sucks blood through suckers . these worms are also found in pork.length of these worms is 10 15 feet long , head is roun like needle. It is commonly found in pig because they eat human excreta. If the pork is not cooked properly these worms can get inside humans. Round worms - they are round and delicate resembling earth worms. They are spread through faeces. If the vegetables are eaten without being cooked properly they get into the body and lodge in the intestine where they lay eggs which come out with the faeces and pollute the environment .

Pin worms- these are common in children . they are small in size and can be noticed in faeces of children. These develop at places where hygiene is not maintained properly. Thses worms cause anal itching. When a child scratches the anal area through nails of the child they enter the child when they put the nails in their mouth. The female worm lays egges at the anus at night which causes anal itching at night. Hook worm- these are of two types. They can cause anaemia in children as they feed on the blood . they enter the body of child when they walk bare footed in soil . these then enter the body and through blood enter the lungs, after that when the child vomits or coughs they again enter the childs stomach and intestine.
