    Financial Supports for students of University of Tsukuba

    Tsukuba ScholarshipSupport in Case of Emergency (for Students)



    To provide study environment for students in unexpectedly financial problems, the
    university offers financial support (200,000yen) to the students who have difficulty in
    studying because their financial situations become serious due to unavoidable reasons
    such as death or unemployment of their own main financial supporters.
    When students are under the following criteria, please come to Financial Support,
    Division of Student Welfare, Department of Student Affairs.

    1. Eligible Students
    Applicants must be students who are faced with following cases.
    (1) Death of a main financial supporter
    The students who have great difficulty in studying because their financial
    situations become serious due to death of their own main financial supporters.
    (2) Unemployment of a main financial supporter
    The students who have great difficulty in studying because their financial
    situations become serious due to that their main financial supporter lost the
    jobs by unavoidable reasons.
    (The unavoidable reasons are unemployment by dismissal, resignation by
    heavy injury or disease, corporate bankruptcy, or personal bankruptcy. Forced
    retirement, early suggested retirement, expiration of term of office, or personal
    reasons are not unavoidable reasons.)
    (Reemployment is not applicable.)

    2. Application Filing Period
    Apply within 6 months after abovehappened.

    3. Amount of Supplied Benefit
    200,000 yen is provided uniformly; the repayment is not required.
    This financial support is limited to one time per individual.

    4. Number of Supported Students
    The number is limited within budget for every year.


    5. Required Documents for Application
    Submit following documents for application for this financial support. Division
    of Student Welfare, Department of Students Affairs will inform more details.
    Please remind that students are not able to apply if these required documents are
    missing.
    (1) Application Form for Tsukuba Scholarship in Case of Emergency
    (2) Certificate of reason for application (Appended table 1)
    (3) Certificate of household financial situation (Appended table 2)

    6. Selection
    This financial benefit will be decided by selection on a basis of the family
    economic situation and the reason for application.
    For the consideration of the family economic situation, the criteria for the
    tuition fees exemption will be applied. Any severance packages or insurance
    benefits are added to temporary income.

    7. Required Documents after the determination of support
    After the benefit is determined to be supplied, submit Request Form of Money
    Transfer.

    8. Notices
    Application with intentionally false information leads the cancelation of the
    supplement and the repayment of the all benefit already supplied.
    In addition, applicants for this support are also suggested to apply for other
    financial supports such as Tuition Fees Exemption or continuous scholarships
    since this is temporary support for students in emergency.

    Applicable documents in following income certificates of all members in the same
    household
    -Withholding tax slip (last year, copy)
    -Blue form tax return (last year, copy)
    -Salary slips (latest 3 months, copy)
    -Notification of pension payment (latest, copy)
    -Declaration of Revenues and Expenditure Status
    -Certificate of severance package payment (copy)
    -Notification of Insurance Benefit Payment (copy) etc.
