Market District Business Association Meeting Minutes 10/23/13 Invocation Being able to touch so many people through my businesses

Magic Johnson Jam Farr; updated winter shed design presentation - Postponed Citizens Bank Development Series Our next workshop is Monday October 28, 5:30pm at the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA 444 East Main Street; Finance with Holly Roth, Assistant Vice President Business Banking Relationship Manager, Citizens Bank. Parking is available across the street at eh East End Garage and the YMCA will validate parking. Food Truck Rodeos: The last Food Truck Rodeo of the season in Wednesday 9/25. This has been a huge fundraising event for our Association and special thanks to John and Rohrbachs as well as Jim and the City. Go Around and Sharing: Jay (Deep Discount Storage); there is winter storage (heated) available for cars ($420) and boats up to 26 feet ($6 per foot). Jennifer (The Hungerford); the next First Friday open house is next Thursday November 1, 69pm. Juan (The Empanada Stop); Juan is looking into a food truck option to travel to other public markets and also looking for second storefront location. Ideally he would like to own the building. Dick (Black Button Distillery); they got their Certificate of Occupancy as well as their Federal License, thanks in part to Senator Chuck Shumers Office. Paula (Paulas Essentials); they are also looking for another location. Their lilac fragrance will be distributed at Loris Natural Foods. Sam (Flower City Produce); Sam will head up an sub-committee to address the issue of improving the traffic to the District other than Saturdays. Juan, Jill and Andy have offered to assist. Initial comments shared included; need businesses to be open consistently during the week, need more seating at outdoor food vendors, ask churches and adult living to bring their patrons through during the week, get hotels to promote the market and bus patrons to market, put the word out that there is lots of parking avail during weekday, have vendors set up close together rather than spread out, and greenovation has avail parking....need a way to get people to market.

Andy (Friends of the Market); the D shed renovation may start in June. Nancy (City Newspaper); Best of Rochester will be in Oct 29th issue of City. Jay (Greenovation); their murals were done by inner city youth directed by Sean Dunwoody and paid for by the city. The Space - Comedy week. Sustainable Saturdays (second Sat each month) eco friendly businesses can set up table to promote themselves. Jill (Friends of the Market); Farash Foundation renewed their grant to her high school group. The meeting ended with a tour of the Black Button Distillery.
