Dear Mr Hill, Gloucestershire Constabulary Freedom of Information request 2013.

4954 On the 28th October 2013 you sent a letter constituting a request under the Freedom of Information Act: As per your clarification the only questions that have been included in this request are: 1. How many arrests / prosecutions have been made in respect of the illegal killing / gassing of Badgers by unlicensed persons in your Force area? Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 s1, I can confirm that the Gloucestershire Constabulary holds no relevant information. 1. No information held. That is to say that there have been no arrests or individuals charged by the Constabulary during Operation Themis for the illegal killing of badgers. However, in order to assist I can inform you that since 01/01/13 there have been 24 incidents reported to the Constabulary of illegal badger killing or interference with setts. There have been 3 incidents recorded stating that a badger has been shot. 1 incident is still on going, 1 is believed to be a lawful shoot by a licensed individual and 1 incident was found to be a Road Traffic Collision. There have been 2 incidents recorded stating a badger was poisoned or gassed. 1 incident received no further action as there was no evidence and the other is on going. There have been 19 incidents recorded of interference, please note that repeat incidents have been excluded. 6 incidents are ongoing, 1 incident is with the CPS, 11 incidents were found to be no interference, 1 incident was a bee's nest dug by badgers.
