Results ,rom June 1993*June %+++,there "ere -. cases of laparascopic surgery in Moh# oesin hospital#It consist of /.. cases laparascopic cholecystectomy,3 cases appendectomy,cases diagnostic laparascopy,liver cyst 1 case,abscess of the liver 1 case# $perating time/the shortest "as 0+ minutes and the longest "as 11+ minutes## &onversion to open/and the causes/#2'uipment failure % cases,subcutaneous emphysema3misplacement of the 4eress needle5 1 case,bile duct in6ury 1 case# ,rom June %+++*no",there "ere 9. cases laparascopic surgery in &haritas hospital# It consist of/Laparascopic cholecystectomy -9 cases,blunt abdominal trauma 1 case, &yst cf the liver 1 case,abscess of the liver % cases,appendectomy 17 cases,diagnostic laparascopy 1%,adhesiolysis % cases#(he operating time/the shortest "as 3+ minutes and the longest "as 1-+ minutes &onversion to open/8ile duct in6ury 1 case,uncontrolled bleeding 1 case,severe adhesions of the gallbladder 1 case#

Conclusion 1#(he laparascopic surgery in both hospital mainly "ere cholecystectomies#Laparascopic appendicectomy "ere rarely done because it need relatively longer time in preparation compare "ith open appendectomy# %#)ithin - years,the number of laparascopic cholecystectomy in Moh# oesin hospital "ere smaller compare "ith laparascopic cholecystectomy in &haritas hospital#(he possible cause of that difference,perhaps,that &haritas ospital,as the eldest hospital in Palembang,have good reputations for most of Palembang people,so that lot of people in Palembang and South Sumatera province,prefer to be operated on in &haritas ospital# 3#(he operating time of laparascopic surgery in Moh# oesin hospital is longer compared "ith in &haritas,because laparascopic surgery in Moh# oesin "as still in learning curve period# .(he occurrence of e'uipment failure in Moh oesin hospital,perhaps due to lo" 'uality of the e'uipment,and because of financial problem,the9failure9 "as not yet repaired and up no",no replacement cr substitution#
