An activist group says Syrian government airstrikes around the northern city of Aleppo have killed at least 29 people. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says warplanes targeted rebel-held areas Saturday. Fourteen were killed when bombs landed at a market in Aleppo's Tariq al-Bab district. Another 15 were killed by airstrikes in the nearby town of al-Bab.

Video posted online, which activists claim to be aftermath of the air raid, showed people picking through the rubble of a collapsed building as smoke billowed up from the site. More than 120,000 people have died in Syria's bloody civil conflict. The violence started in March 2011, when government forces cracked down on protesters calling for reform.
