Blessed are the merciful; for they shall find (receiver) mercy.

He failed to negotiate a curve and had a terrible accident. Sometime later, a state police officer came upon the scene. An animal lover, he saw the horse first. Realizing the serious nature of its injuries, he drew his service revolver and put the animal out of it's misery. He walked around the accident and found the dog, also hurt critically. He couldn't bear to hear it whine in pain, so he ended the dog's suffering as well. Finally he located the cowboy-who suffered multiple fractures-off in the weeds. "Hey, are you okay?" the cop asked. The cowboy took one look at the smoking revolver in the trooper's hand and quickly replied, "Never felt better!" Matthew 9:13

Merciful:

Mercy: See Pager 222-223 Hebrew: hesdh.. Rahamim: literally means bowels and so figuratively of compassion or tender affection it is used of God towards man (Neh. 1:11, Pro. 14:21) Hanan: to show favor to do kindness, to be merciful or be gracious, to have pity Hemlah: signifies to have compassion Kaphar: to treat as forgiven, to forgive. Hebrew: hesedh ((faithfulness, loyalty, loving kindness)

Greek usage: The emotion roused by underserved affliction in others and containing an element of fear as well as mercy. Connection with justice. Two directional noun, 1) Man to man, & 2) God to man 1) Man to Man- David and Jonathan (1 Sam. 20:14), Rahab showed eleos to the spies and asked for eleos in return, Joshua 2:12,14, as did Joseph (Judges 1:24, 1 Sam. 20:8, 1 Kings 20:8) More importantly.

Mercy is the act of God, and peace is the resulting experience in the heart of man. Grace & Mercy describes Gods attitude & action toward the broken and the rebel. Mercy is His attitude and action that leads the r Mercy can be described as Gods loving kindness (a tender affection) and grace meaning the unmerited favor of God. When both are at work and have a tight grip the life of the broken and the rebel; then in their distress, should result in life transformation. Mercy is His attitude & action toward those who are in distress which results in peace in the heart of man.
