(with K=cte=K0)
-This is only a naive example of how to generate an EoS. -K is not cte. It varies with P, except for really ifinitesimal volume changes.

One needs measurements in a larger pressure range to fit a 3rd order EoS There are trade offs between K0 and K0 If the pressure range is small K0 is usually constrained to 4.
Vinet EoS
This EoS is based on a different expansion of F F = F0 (1 + a) exp(a) l is a scaling length (r r0 ) a= l 4 3 Defining V = r and changing variables (rV) in F 3
P= F F = 0 2 a exp( a ) 4 lr V F0 2r0 K0 = K0 ' = 1 + 4 l 2 r0 3l

Logarithmic EoS
Expand F in powers of Hencky strains, H, like the Birch-Murnaghan To 2nd order in H one gets P = K0 ln 0 0 And to 3rd order one gets
ln P = K0 0 0
K 0 ' 2 1 + ln 2 0
Summary
The same data set produces different parameters V0, K0, K0, etc (trade offs) when fit to different EoSs. Be careful when comparing parameters obtained from different EoSs. Preferable to compare raw data of curves instead of parameters. High order finite strain EoSs require data in larger pressure ranges. The Vinet EoS is a fine and decent EoS for any pressure range.
