Folks who are no longer able to attend church are always happy to hear from you! Cards and notes may be sent to Bobby Sayer, Milford Manor, 2200 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Ida Besecker is celebrating her 100th birthday today! Please join her in Fellowship Hall after the 8:30 service to have a piece of cake and offer words of congratulations and best wishes! Drivers are needed to deliver Christmas cookies to our nursing home and homebound members during the week of Dec. 15. If you are willing to help, please contact Peggy Strack, 570-421-3280 ext. 23. Stephen Ministry It is hard to find anything that is unconditional. Everything seems to have strings attached to it. Gods love is unconditional! We dont have to earn it or achieve anything to receive it. At times we can feel quite removed from Gods unconditional love. We may feel guilty, undeserving, or downright unlovable. Stephen Ministers can help as they listen and provide nonjudgmental care, focusing on letting Christs unconditional love flow through them and into the life of their care receivers. JAM PROGRAM UPDATEParents, please read: Parents, please take note of our new sign-out policy for Thursday after school programs. If you are picking up your son or daughter from the JAM Afterschool Program, Fellowship Meal time, or Small Group Bible Study on Thursday evenings, you will need to come into the building and sign out your son or daughter. This new policy will take only a few seconds of your time, and it will ensure a safe environment for your kids. Thank you for your support! Holiday Pie Sale The youth will be selling holiday pies TODAY after all 3 worship services. Purchase your pies for Thanksgiving, and support the youth ministry program! There will be a variety of pies for sale including: peach, apple, cherry, berry, pumpkin, and cheesecake: $10 for a regular pie, $12 for a deep dish. Thanksgiving Community Worship Service The ecumenical, traditional Thanksgiving Community worship service will be held here at East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church THIS EVENING at 7:00 p.m. Salvation Army Bell Ringers Needed Anyone who is interested in being a bell ringer for the Salvation Army at K-Mart in East Stroudsburg from Monday December 9th to Saturday the 14th, please call Ken Brown at 570-424-6480.
Breakfast with Santa Yes, Santas Breakfast is back, but we need your help with this community outreach program! Anyone willing to help on December 7, especially take-down at 1PM, contact Ray Moeller at 570-421-6177. Vendors can contact Pat Braun at 570-424-5481. United Methodist Women can use any craft items, seasonal items, or small gift items for children's family gift shopping. Donations can be put in the closet under the bell tower. Cookies, candy, or jellies can be dropped off at the church Thursday, December 5th or Friday, the 6th before noon. Please contact Linda Drake at 570-424-6038 with questions.

Youth Rally to Ocean City, MD: January 10 12, 2014 The youth rally is a trip for all 6th - 12th grade students. We join with thousands of other youth to fellowship, worship, and hear messages from professional Christian speakers. If you would like to sign-up, please contact Scott Kuhnle (skuhnle@esumc.net). SWAT (Seasoned Workers Action Team) meets the 4th Monday of every month from 9:00 am until 12 Noon. Our next workday is November 25th. All men or women, retired or with some available time, are welcome! Your participation to help beautify our church home makes a difference! (SWAT will not meet in December.). Childrens Church We urgently need adults during the 11 a.m. service for Childrens Church for Sunday, December 1st and 29th. Please consider volunteering. Call or email Pam OBrien at 570-421-3280 or childrendirector@esumc.net Tuesdays Kids Tuesdays Kids is an after school program for kids in 2nd- 5th grade that meets on Tuesdays at 3:30-5:00. Join us for some fun and friendship. Registration is required for planning purposes and permission slips must be filled out prior to participating. Call Mrs. OBrien at the church office (Ext. 11) or email her at childrendirector@esumc.net with any questions or to register. Tuesdays Kids is also in need of the following volunteers: Adult or older youth who can be a helper on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Van drivers available for afternoon pickups at local schools in East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg. Tuesdays Kids will not meet on November 26th due to the early dismissals at school.

MS Walk (Alternative) for 2014: Mark your calendars for the next MS Alternative Walk for Sunday, May 4, 2014. Tom's Trekies will provide added information in the coming months for the walk that will take place in Stroudsburg rather than traveling to Pocono Raceway. Thank you, Tom and Kathy Hinkey! Spring Adult Mission Trip The Spring Adult Mission trip is to Ocean City, NJ to help in the relief of Sandy. The cost is unknown at this time. We will be leaving Sunday afternoon on April 27 and coming back Friday, May 2nd or Saturday, May 3rd. Community Meal Ministry Community meal leaders are requesting pillows and pillowcases to give out as Christmas presents this year. Approximately 150 are needed. For more information please contact Mary at mbs1058@aol.com Older Kids 55+ Christmas Luncheon Our Christmas covered dish luncheon will be on Tuesday, December 10th at 11:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is asked to bring a favorite holiday dish to share, as well as a small, inexpensive wrapped gift for a Gift Exchange. That day we will also be collecting new pillows or pillow cases for the folks who attend the Monday Night Community Dinners.
