The Ecuadorian Educational System

Education is one of the most important factors in social progress; however, in Ecuador, it has a poor quality. Throughout the years, the government has tried to improve the educational system, but the main problem is that there is inefficient management of the economic resources destined for education. Therefore, these resources are not equally distributed to every educational establishment. Besides the poor management of the money for education, the lack of proper education of the teachers is another important fact which contributes to the poor quality of education. In order to solve this issue, there are some solutions which should be followed in order to achieve an improvement for the Ecuadorian educational system. To incorporate new ways of learning in every educational establishment is an important solution to improve the level of knowledge of the students. These new ways could help the students in all the subjects they have to learn without taking care of the difficulty. Therefore, the teachers must update their ways of teaching according with the age by using up-to-date tools like the Internet in order to make their classes interesting. Moreover, the teachers must attend teaching courses where they can learn about several new ways to teach in many establishments, especially in elementary schools and high schools where there are problems of learning. A successful learning depends on the ways used in teaching, so these ways must be incorporated and often updated.

To improve the infrastructure of the educational establishments is another solution to get a better quality of education in Ecuador. The place where people study must be appropriate in order to encourage them to learn, so the buildings should improve their presentation. Indeed, the buildings must have modern classrooms equipped with the necessary technology in order to take advantage of it in education. Moreover, the buildings should be well-constructed to offer the students a place where the climate conditions like rain and humidity do not affect their learning. Among universities, the improvement of the laboratories is necessary because there is obsolete equipment, which does not allow the students to learn more. Ecuadorian students deserve to study in an environment which helps them to be concentrated, so it is important and necessary the improvement of classrooms and laboratories. To make laws to regulate every transaction of the money destined for education is also a solution to improve the Ecuadorian educational system. Because of the lack of laws, many people who are responsible for managing the money have spent it in everything less in investments to improve the quality of education. Moreover, there are people like the principals of the universities who earn high salaries while many children do not have at least one opportunity to attend a school. Money destined to improve the appearance of the educational establishments also is spent in other things which are not referred to education. There are also problems with the teachers salaries because many of them do not earn sufficient to have a decent lifestyle. The creation of regulating laws could stop the corrupt spending of money, yet they are not created these days. In conclusion, the poor quality of education in Ecuador is an issue which affects the development of the country. Many circumstances have contributed to the absence of Ecuadorian competent professionals, so the students who get a degree have to catch up with the subjects

they did not learn during their studies because of the poor quality of education. In order to solve this problem, there are many solutions that the government should consider. The incorporation of new ways of learning, the improvement of the infrastructure of the educational establishments and the creation of regulation laws could be these solutions. Even though the improvement of the educational system could represent a challenging work, it must be done because education is the basis of progress and development.
