Business Argus
By Jo Barnes
Husband and wife Neil and Joanna Termets, new owners of The Garway Inn with a huge emphasis on quality of both the service and the locally sourced produce. Running a business is tough with no respite and being tied to the business 24 hours a day but the rewards far outweigh the downsides even after working 16 hour days. The gratitude of customers simply enjoying their lunch or guests returning week after week makes it all worthwhile. Emma King, Barclays business manager, said: As champions of local business, it is essential that we support new business ventures such as the Garway Moon Inn. By really understanding the business, Barclays has been able to support the business both financially and professionally throughout the acquisition. The plan is to create a destination pub with customers coming from everywhere.
New store venture Changes to drive in town launched company forward by businessman
LOCAL businessman and Budgens retailer Marcus Ostler is opening a new Budgens store on St Lawrence Road, Chepstow, on Thursday, bringing a range of fresh produce and groceries to the local area. The store will stock local products, fresh fruit and vegetables, general groceries and a wide selection of fine wines. It will employ 20 people and will support local community members and causes. The store is 3,000sq ft in size with an in-house bakery selling freshlyfilled baguettes, hot pies and pasties, bacon sandwiches/rolls and fresh hot coffee along with a lottery terminal. Mr Ostler said: Its an exciting time for my family and I we love Chepstow and believe we have a good understanding of the local area. Weve decided to partner with Budgens to be able to offer their SuperValu own brand range and ensure we can offer good prices with everyday products price matched to Tesco. Since we own and run the store it does mean we will be able to find out what local residents really want and need so that we ensure the store caters for their needs. Were keen to work with local people and to support local producers in the area too. The official ribbon cutting will take place at the store on Thursday at 10 am by Mr Ostler and his family . The store will be open from Monday to Sunday 7am 9pm.
