Project Leader Stephen Sadler, William Jewell, Tim Riley and Other Staff Individually, you are required to create and submit a website. This will use the communication and visualisation skills taught to you over the course of the unit, through which you will develop your own unique styles and approaches. You need to design a website that will introduce your work as a practitioner and student of television and the media. This site could serve as an online showcase for your work over the coming years, which will need to be expanded and enhanced as you progress through the course. There are many terrific examples of personal websites to investigate which can really show you and your work in a positive light to potential employers. Be bold and exciting and have fun with this assignment. Your website can be hosted by a web hosting service of your choice but as a suggestion, a good, intuitive and free alternative to explore is to be found at www.wix.com, www.moonfruit.com or www.wordpress.com

Formative Assessment Wednesday 30th October 2013 In week 5, you are required to present your ideas for your website to your subject specialist tutor for approval. Design layouts should be considered. Summative Assessment Wednesday 27th November 2013 Upload a file to Moodle with a link to your completed and ready to view website. This MUST be submitted to Moodle with a cover sheet, which can be found and downloaded from the unit Moodle page. Complete ALL relevant sections and make sure this sheet is the first page of your assignment. You are strongly advised to check these links and files to ensure that they play before loading them up to the college VLE. Assessable Elements and Submission Requirements Your website should include the following: A Landing Page with a short introduction about yourself. Some photographic content related to your activities in film and the media. Links to at one other page with content One page as a profile of you. One page of contact details. At least two films made during this module embedded into a page. These short films must be between 1:00 and 2:30 mins. in duration. These could include video or still photographs or both and must contain some sort of soundtrack. They could consist of copyright free music and/or a voice-over for example. These films need to be uploaded to www.youtube.com or www.vimeo.com and links to them included on your website. Please make sure to make the videos unlisted or public. All content must be free of copyrighted materials/ or copyright cleared.

Students who fail this project, or parts thereof, will be required to complete a retrieval project which demonstrates that they have achieved the learning outcomes. Re-Submission Students should be aware that retrievals are capped at a bare pass grade Requirements (40%) unless the mitigating circumstances panel uphold an evidenced application. The deadline for retrieval will be determined at a Progress Review or Assessment Board.
