National Register of Historic Places. The Nutley Museum brings local history to
life this season with a photography exhibit and memorabilia from Annie Oakley

The Oakes Mansion, constructed
in 1895 and designed by New York
architect Charles Granville Jones, is a
well-preserved example of turn of the
20th century architecture. The interior of
the house has remained remarkably well
preserved and intact through the years,
a reection of its being continuously
occupied by a single family since its
construction. The Oakeside Estate is now one of the last remaining residences
in Bloomeld representative of this lifestyle. Admission is free. Open 12 to

Early Victorian home of the Crane family
(circa 1854) will be festively decorated,
featuring a holiday tree, an illuminated Victorian
dollhouse and exhibits: Santa through the
years and worldwide vintage holiday greeting
cards and santons. Continuing display:
Caldwell Calvary Troops-Banner of the War of
1812. Light refreshments served on both days.

The Ballantine House offers visitors a taste of how Christmas was celebrated in late
Victorian Newark. Resplendent with Victorian decorations and evergreens, it features
a Christmas tree decorated with Victorian ornaments, the familys stockings hung by
the replace and a Christmas dinner set in the mahogany-paneled dining room.
Suggested Admission is $10 adults; $6 children, seniors and students; free for

Experience Neo-Gothic splendor and charm in this National and State landmark,
the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Newark, adjacent to Essex County Branch
Brook Park. Designated a Minor Basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1995, the Cathedral
Basilica is home to resplendent stained glass windows, mosaics and other artwork,
and decorated for the Christmas holiday. Admission is free. Donations accepted.

and inhabited by the Force family in the early 1800s.
Elegant gowns and items on loan from the Edison

is s 28-acre historic estate in Short Hills.
The Georgian Revival Mansion at Greenwood
Gardens will be decorated with fresh greens,

A holiday boutique in the study will feature unique

Explore this charming 1832 Presbyterian Church Manse decorated for the holidays.
The home life and traditions of the Rev. Richard Clevelands young family are
explored while visitors take a self-guided tour through the rst oor of President
Grover Clevelands birthplace. Hands-on activities for children. Gift shop features
educational items and Victorian reproductions. Two museum galleries. Admission
is free, donations accepted. Open Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday
from 1 to 4pm.

1700s Center Hall Brownstone that was the home of Joseph Kingsland, who made
curbing for lower Manhattan and safety paper for U.S. Government, and then the
colorful speakeasy training camp of Bob Fitzsimmons, heavyweight champion.
The house is set in a park near a water fall and pond. Featuring Dickens Christmas.
Entertainment and refreshments. Admission by donation. Open 1 to 5pm on

known for its untouched state of preservation.
