How to apply Applicants should complete and submit a Sports Scholarship application form available from our website. If shortlisted, applicants may be required to attend an informal interview. Applications for our Sports Scholarship programme can be submitted throughout the year. Final decisions will be made towards the end of August once results have been recieved.

Criteria Eligibility for the Sports Scholarship programme varies from sport to sport, however applicants should have competed at junior international level within the last 12 months as a minimum requirement.

Sports Scholarships
The Sports Scholarship programme at the University of Leeds supports elite athletes as they combine their academic and sporting demands during their time at university. The University of Leeds provides a well-rounded approach of funding, support services and an interface with academic departments to ensure elite athletes have the infrastructure that allows them to compete at the highest level whilst studying for a world-class degree. The Programme The University of Leeds provides a comprehensive package of support that is tailored to the needs of individual athletes.

Scholarship Packages
Platinum Scholarship
10,000 financial support over three years (3,300 each year) All inclusive membership to The Edge 1,000 worth of physiotherapy and massage per year

Sports Scholars
Gold
3,000 financial support over three years (1,000 each year) 50% reduction in first year accommodation (to a value of 2,500) 2,500 towards food which will cover two meals per day at a University catering outlet. All inclusive membership to The Edge Athlete Lifestyle Co-ordinator appointed to ensure academic and sporting excellence is achieved 1,000 worth of physiotherapy and massage per year Bespoke strength and conditioning programme Scholarship leisurewear This package is to the value of 10,000 The University of Leeds has supported a number of high profile athletes through the Sports Scholarship programme.
