Theme

This week we learned all about our place in the world!!! We started out learning where our houses are in Auburn. We then realized we needed to find Auburn in Alabama, and Alabama in the United States. Your children are developing an understanding of where they are in the world. We learned all about drawing maps. We drew maps representing each part of our world (our room, house, neighborhood, city, state, country, and world) The children have loved drawing maps.

FYI:

Homework

In your childs folder you will find a piece of paper backed with construction paper. Please have your child take the time to make a detailed map of their room. We have had so much fun with maps this week. I know the September 17: Fall Festival children will be excited to share their room September 19: Picture Day maps with the class!!!! October 4: Rocket Run October 21-25: Parent Teacher Conference Week

On Wednesday your child should have come home with a yellow behavior folder. At Dean Road we are using this each day to keep you and I in constant communication about your childs behavior. Each day your child and I will discuss what their choices were that day and we will pick a happy, straight, or sad face to represent their behavior for the day. If your child received a sad or straight face there will be a note from me explaining why your child picked that face to represent their behavior. As with anything please feel free to call or email with any questions or concerns. Together we are going to help your children become amazing kindergarteners!!!!!
