Lunch with Brussels in Lower Manhattan
The next International Council is welcoming
Emmanuel de Beughem of the Brussels
Enterprise Agency on Oct. 14th. Please join us
for a brown bag luncheon as Mr. de Beughem
discusses opportunities abroad for NYSIA
member companies.
The Brussels Enterprise Agency (BEA) is the
international business agency for the greater
Brussels region in Belgium. The Agency provides
assistance to international companies seeking to
establish their operations in the region either
through direct investment or strategic
partnerships, and also works with hundreds of
local companies on strategic business
development issues in a variety of sectors
including software.
Please note that this is a brown bag lunch, but
light refreshments will be served. The meeting
will begin promptly at 12:30pm.

Profile: Angelina Hsiaoping Jao
Ms. Jao's broad experience with economic
development and global marketing has been
garnered from leading teams in both corporate
and entrepreneurial positions. After several
successful years in global data
telecommunications marketing and sales for
Global 100 telecom companies, Ms. Jao saw a
niche opportunity and founded TMGI, a
management consulting firm specializing in global
strategic business and economic sustainable
development (www.tmgi.us). TMGI focuses upon
developing integrated communications platforms
for international clients, and has enjoyed
significant growth in recent years.
Ms. Jao's economic development, teaching, and
non-profit community work include appointments
as Instructor at the Graduate Center, City
University of New York (Marketing and the
Internet), Chairperson of the Global Trade and
Technology Center, Board of Directors member
and Services Committee Chairperson of the
Southwest Brooklyn Economic Development
Corporation, Chairperson and Founder of the
International Council of the New York Software
Industry Association, Coalition of Asian Pacific
Americans, New York Asian Womens Center,
Liberty World Outrigger Competition, others.
Ms. Jao hails from Washington DC metro,
daughter of an elected regional business leader
and an award-winning published Professor of
Chinese Linguistics and Classics. Ms. Jao was a
Pre-Law major at the University of Wisconsin-
Madison, where she earned a B.A. in
International Relations, Political Science and
English. She has completed professional studies
in Information Technology at New York University
and Columbia University, and has an M.S. in
Policy Development/ Global Commerce
Management from the University of Maryland.
Ms. Jao is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, a
 classically trained pianist and former amateur
bodybuilder and student of martial arts. Ms. Jao
is based in New York City and travels frequently.
She is the founder of a number of international
and regional social and professional networking
clubs.

Profile: Emmanuel de Beughem

Emmanuel is the Business Development Manager
with the Brussels Enterprise Agency, which is a
Department of the Brussels Region authority,
based in Brussels, Belgium. He is in charge of
advising and supporting foreign companies which
are considering the establishment of business
operations in the Brussels region. Mr. de
Beughem has assisted numerous US companies
with business establishment issues in Brussels as
well as their dealings with the local authorities.

Emmanuel started his career in Africa (Burundi)

as a logistician for an American NGO (Catholic
Relief Service). Then he worked 3 years in
Singapore as a business Development Manager
for a shipping line and 5 years as a Marketing
Manager in the Truck Tyre division of Bridgestone
Europe in Brussels. Emmanuel holds a Master's
degree in Business Administration from the
University of Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.
