Mapping Our Week & Beyond
Monday, December 9: PTA Christmas Program Third Graders performing Monday- Friday, Dec.9-13: Book Fair

Reading: This week, we are reading The Science Fair.


The skills we are focusing on are story structure and visualizing. Please read in your reading book every night & study the vocabulary cards for the test on Friday. Read every night and fill in the Reading Log. Return with Parent Signature DAILY! Our Vocabulary words are: report, presentation, erupt, creative, educational, certificate, impressive, charts.

This week, we will be completing our book reviews. We will continue to practice editing paragraphs throughout the week.
This week we will learn to multiply by the factors 3 and 6. We will also learn how we can use arrays to represent multiplication. There will be a quiz on the 3s and 6s facts on Friday.

Social Studies: Explorers and Early Settlers of S.C.


We continue learning about the explorers of South Carolina, including the amazing Henry Woodward. Without his help, the first colonists at Charles Town may very well not have made it. We will learn about Elizabeth Lucas Pinckney and indigo, as well as how slavery was brought to S.C. The test will be before the holidays.

Snacks can help children get the nutrients needed to grow and maintain a healthy weight. Prepare singleserving snacks for younger children to help them get just enough to satisfy their hunger. Let older kids make their own snacks by keeping healthy foods in the kitchen.We are a healthy snack ZONE! A healthy snack will be important for good learning throughout the morning. Please send a nutritious and quick snack to school with your child. Good examples would be fruit, healthy crackers, or cheese. No candy, chips, fruit rollups, or juice boxes please! Water bottles are encouraged. Save time by slicing veggies. Store sliced vegetables in the refrigerator and serve with dips like hummus or low-fat dressing. whole-wheat English muffin with spaghetti sauce, chopped

Our class Holiday party will be on Thursday, vegetables, and low-fat shredded mozzarella and melt in
