Itisveryhumblingtobehonoredamongsomeofthegreatestcorporate directorsintheworld,Albrechtsays.Thisisatremendousaward,andI countmyselfluckytohavebeenrecognized. Albrecht,theAndersenAlumniProfessorofAccountancy,currently servesonthreepublicboardsincludingCypressSemiconductorCorp., RedHatInc.,andSkyWestInc. OnethingIhavelearnedwhileworkingonseveralboardsisthatyou shouldnevermakebigdecisionsalone,Albrechtsays.Workinginboth thebusinessandacademicworldhasgivenmethegreatopportunityto workalongsidesomegreatindividuals. Albrechthasreceivednumerousawardssincehebeganteachingatthe MarriottSchoolin1977.WhileservingasassociatedeanoftheMarriott Schoolfrom1998to2008hereceivedBYUshighestfacultyhonor,the KarlG.MaeserDistinguishedFacultyLecturerAward,forsuperior scholarshipandteaching.Outsideofthemanyaccoladesgarneredinacademia,Albrechthasbeenrecognizedasoneofthe 100mostinfluentialaccountingprofessionalsintheUnitedStatesbyAccountingTodaymagazineonfiveseparateoccasions. AlbrechtsextensiveexperiencewithfraudfightinghasalsoearnedhimtheCresseyAwardfromtheAssociationofCertified FraudExaminers,thehighestawardgivenforalifetimeofachievementinfrauddetectionanddeterrence.
