DENR SECRETARY VISITS MINE SITE


DENR Secretary Angelo T. Reyes visited the mine site
yesterday, May 23, 2006, to facilitate a dialogue between
the RRFFC and the stakeholders of the Rapu-Rapu
Polymetallic Project.

The Secretary was accompanied by DENR’s Regional


Director Oscar Hamada, EMB’s Chief Gilbert Gonzales
and MGB’s Regional Director Reynulfo Juan. About 30
media personalities from Albay, Sorsogon and Manila
flocked to the site to cover the visit.

The visit was to ensure that the government considers all


the parties’ issues before arriving at a decision to allow the Sec. Reyes arrives by chopper at the Open Pit
