Bounty Hunter Vs The Ugly Truth

In this modernized society the teenagers and even adults like to go out and watch movies in the cinema while eating popcorn. Now days there are big screen television and allowing us to watch a movie at home without going out. One of the genres which are popular is the romantic comedy. To guys there are some who find romantic movies boring. Thus putting in comedy in it makes the movie a lot interesting well that is what I would say. (Joseph & Dennis, 2000, pg.19 20) A romantic comedy is a movie which focuses on love aspect in human relationships with a light hearted, humorous and dramatic storyline centred around romantic ideals. The movie that I am going to discuss today is the Bounty Hunter vs. The Ugly Truth. The movie Bounty Hunter talks about the how both main character Milo and Nicole were ex-husband and wife who were madly in love and for some reason broken up. Now there is someone who hired Milo the bounty hunter to catch his exwife and lock her up. He was happy about this because he hated his ex and as the movie continues he eventually fell in love with Nicole again. In the movie The Ugly Truth the two main characters are Abby and Mike, Abby saw Mike on a TV show called The Ugly Truth and rang up the studio stating that all his theories arent entirely right. She soon find out that he is going to work in the same division as her as a in a broadcasting company. He is determined that all his theories about relationships though it sounds bad and cheesy, he knows that it is right. For him to prove her wrong he went and use Nicole as a genie pig and ask her to follow his instruction while facing this hot guy name Colin. It worked out well between Abby and Colin but Mike has a liking to Abby. She eventually broke up with Colin and Mike

admitted that he liked her and they got together. This essay I am emphasising on the similarity of both the movie, such as the similarity of the both male characters personality, the similarity of the plot for the movie and the differences of both the movie are how both of the main character get to know each other. Firstly, in both of the movie they both male characters personality are the same which is a stubborn personality. Even though both the male main actor is the same (Gerard Butler), there are also differences in the actors character in both the movie. In the movie The Ugly Truth the male main character (Mike) is a man who has a stubborn personality from start to the end of the movie, he supports his thinking and perception of woman and what make the truth hard to accept. This is quite similar in the movie Bounty Hunter where the male main character (Milo) who also have a stubborn personality. As shown from the start to the end of the movie, he took up the job of putting his ex-wife (Nicole) into prison. Even when both theyre relationship were getting better over the time they were stuck together before arriving to the police station, he still insist on sending her to jail. This shows that in both movies both the male main character has a stubborn personality. Further more, in both movies they both have a similar plot where both characters start of in a bad relationship but end at good terms. As shown in the movie The Ugly Truth the female main character (Abby) starts of thinking that this guy (Mike) is a jerk telling the viewers non-sense about relationships of others. In the middle they both were working together in the same department forcing both of them to get a good relationship. The main male character (Mike) asked her the female main character to follow his instructions so that she can get the sexy masculine guy named Colin. In the end they soon find out that they both liked each other and have a good relationship with one another. The movie Bounty Hunter has quite a similar

plot, the male main character (Milo) started off by being very happy to take up the job of sending his ex-wife (Nicole) to jail. In the middle of the movie Nicole tries to get away from Milo and always end up getting caught by him. In the end they both got back the reason why they both were married earlier on and got back together behind bars. Both the movies started off when both the main characters hating each other and end up falling in love with one another. Lastly, the differences of both of the movie are how both of the main character gets to know each other. As seen in the movie The Ugly Truth Abby coincidently was watching the TV show called the Ugly Truth and sees that Mike was discriminating womans image in a relationship. For that reason Abby called up the studio and tried to prove him wrong but it back fired. She didnt want to accept the truth and soon find out that her boss had hired him to work in the same division as her. On the other hand the movie Bounty Hunter, Milo the bounty hunter had got a job offer that he cant reject which is putting his ex-wife (Nicole) behind bars. He first went to his ex-mother in law and asked where Nicole is but she only said she had to go somewhere and suck up some luck almost immediately he knew where she was because of they are previous marriage experience and went to the horse racing track. In conclusion, there are similarities and differences in both the movies such as in both the movies the male characters personality are similar, the similarity of the plot for the movies and the differences of both the movie are how both of the main character get to know each other. In my opinion both the movies have very humorous characters, at the same time romantic. Besides that, both of the movies have an unexpected ending which was surprising to me.
